Titan Quest 2’s battles are intense, and the game does very little in terms of handholding. You’re dropped into Proti Island, and you’re pretty much on your own from that point. To survive, you have to study enemies and prepare accordingly, and the Rogue Mastery’s Preparation skill comes in clutch for such cases.

The Preparation Skill is a skill that essentially applies temporary buffs to you. These buffs are best against difficult enemies and bosses, and can be even better with modifications. If you’re wondering what modifications to pick for this class, keep reading to find out.

Enhanced Critical Hits

The Enhanced Critical Hits modification increases your odds of landing a critical hit each time you use the Preparation skill. The modification increases your chance 10 percent at a time, and you can level this up five times to increase it even more. We recommend using this skill against bosses to deal huge chunks of damage and finish them off fast. The modification also improves the chances for allies, but multiplayer isn’t functional in the game yet, so it is irrelevant at the moment.

Shadow Dagger

The next modification you need is the Shadow Dagger modification. This modification builds on the critical attacks and helps you deal further damage. With Shadow Dagger, whenever you crit an enemy, you hold a 30 percent chance to backstab the enemy with a dagger and deal 7 Poison damage. This modification works in synergy with the Enhanced Critical Hits modification and improves your damage potential.

Blade Honing

The final modification we recommend picking up is the Blade Honing modification. This modification grants you 100 percent extra weapon damage and converts it to Pierce Damage. In addition to that, the modification also grants you and your allies +2 in Pierce Damage, which only improves your damage further. With multiplayer currently buggy, the ally components of this modification are irrelevant at the moment. Still, you can get a lot out of it as a solo player.
