Hollow Knight Silksong is set to release on September 4, 2025, officially. The community, eagerly waiting after six long years. The official trailer that was released announced over 40 unique bosses that will be available on game release. But could it be that Hollow Knight’s own bosses might be coming back in Hollow Knight Silksong?

Let’s talk about 5 bosses from Hollow Knight that could return in Silksong.

Hollow Knight is a game that focuses on its world first and foremost. Random enemies do not spawn in an area without lore, and chances are this will remain true for Silksong, too.

So, this list has been made according to Hollow Knight’s lore, or what we know about it. Since we cannot confirm if Silksong is before or after the events of Hollow Knight, this article will assume both to be true and speculate on who might come back.

The Radiance

The Radiance is the Hollow Knight’s main antagonist, as revealed in the Godhome DLC (free). Given the godly nature of the Radiance, she might be back in Hollow Knight Silksong, possibly as a boss. This is just speculation, but the Radiance might come back inside the knight, possibly as an infected version. The Knight swallows the Radiance and its void powers in the game’s true ending.

But, in the latest trailer of the game, there is a layer of void that covers the screen as it ends. Possibly hinting at its influence in Silksong. Nevertheless, the Radiance boss fight as Hornet would be interesting with her new tools. For now, we know very little about the lore of Silksong, which will be revealed slowly after September 4, 2025.

Grimm and the Circus

Lore-wise, Grimm and his circus only venture to dead kingdoms to possibly gather Scarlet Flames for their ritual. But, till the end of Silksong, who knows if Pharloom will survive or not? The previous game has focused on how we explore a lost kingdom and find out the knight’s purpose in it.

Grimm and the circus might just come back if the kingdom of Pharloom is lost, and a new DLC explores the kingdom years after its destruction. Hornet might not be responsible for it, but given how the trailer and lore suggest, Hornet’s capture might be related to the kingdom’s problem.

Grey Prince Zote

Grey Prince Zote was a troll boss fight added by Team Cherry in the original game, so something similar might feature too in Hollow Knight Silksong. He was an incredibly unfair boss who needed a lot of tries to learn about his moves. However, the troll part was that he was all around the arena, moving a lot.

A similar boss with a Don Quixote persona might feature in Silksong, too, as Zote has become an iconic character in the Hollow Knight community. If Hornet has a potential admirer like the Hollow Knight (Bretta), let’s hope that she/he won’t be taken away.

The Knight from Hollow Knight

If Silksong is revealed to exist after the events of Hollow Knight, meeting the knight could be on the table. With all the nail and charm upgrades, the fight would be very challenging, especially if it were the actual void version of the Knight.

However, a new character, Lace, has been shown in the trailers and demo that is taking the role of Hornet from the original Hollow Knight. Multiple fights spread around the map, and are possibly very connected to the story progression as well.

Nevertheless, meeting the Hollow Knight, or maybe one of his many siblings, would be a fun lore connector to the actual game, even though it is highly improbable. But the role of the void might be possible, as the trailer hints at the end.

Uninfected Nosk

In the trailer of Hollow Knight Silksong, Hornet is supposedly roaming through what looks like the weavers’ home. They live far below in Deepnest in the Hollow Knight. But given that Silksong takes place in Pharloom, we might meet near relatives of the horrors of Deepnest.

One of them is Nosk, a boss that mimics its prey and lures them into its den. Hollow Knight let us fight the infected version, but what if Nosk is not a unique boss, but an entire race? So, based on that, Nosk’s relatives could hinder Hornet’s progress in Silksong.
