Death and the Afterlife in Inzoi are complicated, with some restrictions on what players can do once they die. Here are the details.

What happens once your Zoi dies in Inzoi is not a mystery. The game offers players a limited number of choices after death, allowing them to either start a new save or explore the simulated world of the game as a ghost in the afterlife. To reach this point, there are various methods and routes that you can take. The developers currently state multiple known ways in which players can die in Inzoi. And more unconventional methods, such as murder, are not an option. Also, there was an unintended bug in the early build of the title that allowed characters to be run over, but it is now patched.
How To Die in Inzoi

There are a lot of confirmed methods you can use to die in Inzoi, as per Krafton, such as Exhaustion, Pollution, Burning, and even Embarrassment and Loneliness. Death can also occur from starvation in the game, and it is an effective way if you want to kill your Zoi for some reason. If you decide to starve your character, then it can take around three games in the simulated world for them to meet their demise. Of course, you will get various warnings in the meantime, but you must actively make sure that your Zoi does not eat anything.
Furthermore, both starvation and exhaustion, for that matter, take a lot of effort and time to kill your character. If you want an easier or less time-consuming way, make them rob an ATM to electrocute them. The developers have made sure that dying in Inzoi is not easy, despite it being an accurate simulation of our everyday life.

Death | Cause |
---|---|
Starvation | Not eating food for a prolonged period of time |
Exhaustion | Not getting any sleep for a prolonged period of time |
Pollution | Exposure to high levels of pollution and toxic elements for a long time |
Disease | Ignoring and not treating a disease that your Zoi has |
Car Accident | Collison at high speed while your Zoi is in the car. |
Lonliness | Not interacting with NPCs for a long time. |
Electrocution | Getting an electric shock while trying to repair electronics or hacking an ATM |
Falling | Slipping on a wet surface or falling and getting a fatal injury |
Burning | Death by fire |
Embarrasment | Not a lot is known about this method, but Krafton has stated in the past that death by embarrassment is possible |
Old Age | Dying by natural causes when you reach the end of your life |
What Happens in the Afterlife in Inzoi?

Two things can happen once you die in Inzoi. Either you can simply end your save peacefully, or the game can make you a ghost roaming the city in the afterlife. Both of these outcomes depend largely on your Karma and whether it is good or bad. The latter method is not yet fully realized because Inzoi is still in early access.
Furthermore, a life of crime, wrongdoings, bad behavior with other Zois, and spending some time in jail will make your Karma bad, and if that happens, only then will you be able to get the ghost in the afterlife outcome. If you have lived a good and honest life, then you won’t have to worry about that, and you can just reload an old save or start a new one after death.
