Amid the various ongoing controversies surrounding the platform, Roblox announced the removal of all games that have no age ratings starting September 30, 2025. The decision was revealed in a forum on the official creator hub. The post urges creators to start the process and get their games rated. Otherwise, the experience will become unplayable after the deadline. To do so, devs have to complete the Maturity & Compliance questionnaire for the respective game.

Roblox is currently in the middle of several lawsuits, many accusing it of child exploitation. Recently, the Louisiana Attorney General made headlines after suing the gaming giant and calling the platform a “breeding ground” for “predators.” The lawsuit claims the platform’s policies are not enough to stop adults from posing and luring minors, opening them up to abuse. The platform introduced a new age verification feature earlier this year, aiming to make it harder for adults to interact with minors.
Now, all games on the platform will get a minimum age rating. Devs have to submit the Maturity & Compliance questionnaire from their creator dashboard before September 30. Roblox claims that this new age rating system will help parents make better “informed decisions” when it comes to letting minors use the platform. A relevant section from the post on the official forum reads:
“These changes will enable users and parents to make better decisions on the content they engage with – making Roblox a better place for everyone in our community.”
Many raised concerns about this decision, as this might mean the removal of classic legacy games. However, under the current guidelines, legacy games will stay on the platform with some caveats.
Roblox To Preserve Classic Games On The Platform
The post addresses the concern of the community about classic games becoming unplayable due to the age rating rule. Players can rest easy knowing that Roblox claims it will preserve the older games that are no longer supported by their creators.
