The highly anticipated Dress To Impress Lady Gaga event in Roblox took place on August 23, 2025. In addition to themed dresses inspired by the famous singer, the highlight was a live meet-and-greet featuring Mother Monster herself. However, controversy erupted over the weekend after many in the community called out the Dress To Impress team for supposedly misleading them. Players criticized the management, claiming the event excluded most of the player base, as only a select few, mostly devs and content creators, got to interact with Lady Gaga.
The drama culminated in one Discord moderator of the official Dress To Impress server quitting and sharing screenshots, accusing the managers of being unprofessional. The community manager, BeaPlays, was removed after other allegations against her surfaced online.

As one of the most popular games on Roblox, Dress To Impress has a massive player base. Naturally, when the devs announced a collaboration with Lady Gaga, it generated a lot of interest. Especially when a live meet and greet and Q&A was announced. Hundreds of thousands of Roblox players logged in during the event on Saturday, August 23, to see Lady Gaga herself.
However, Lady Gaga’s server was not really open to the public and was reserved for content creators and the dev team. This caused quite a flurry during the event, with many taking to Reddit, Discord, and X to voice their displeasure at Dress To Impress. A section of the fan base accused the devs of misleading them by claiming the event was a live meet and greet. Some even doubted whether the singer’s avatar in Roblox was real. So much so that even Lady Gaga posted a photo of herself, confirming that it was her in the game.
Days later, the Dress To Impress team issued an apology to the fans in a long statement. The statement acknowledged that the initial announcements about the event were not clear enough. A relevant section from the team’s apology notes how the Lady Gaga meet and greet was a “broadcast event” and many people misunderstood that due to the “poor wording” of their announcements:
“We should have been clearer that this was a broadcast event across all servers, and not a direct meet with Gaga herself. We’re genuinely very sad to know that so many of our valued players feel disappointed by this event, but this doesn’t excuse us from being held accountable. Our poor wording was completely an oversight on our part, and we are deeply sorry for it.”
