You’ll need to disengage silo locks in Helldivers 2 during one phase of the Launch ICBM mission. However, the task at hand isn’t going to be as simple as it might sound. You might have to rely on your team to get through this section of the mission. As such, make sure you have built great coordination and teamwork before this point, or you might struggle to open the locks on the silo.

In the following guide, we’ll explore how you can reach the silo and the exact process you’ll have to follow to disengage its locks.

After starting the Launch ICBM mission, your first two primary goals are to find the launch codes and then fuel the silo. Besides these, there could be additional goals depending on the difficulty level you’ve picked. Regardless of whether you pursue those side missions, you’ll need to simply follow the map markers and complete the first two we mentioned. Once those are done, the game will task you with reaching the ICBM Silo. Yet again, the map marker will lead you to the objective.

The silo is located on elevated ground. Make sure to take up the vantage point and take out any enemies that you spot below. You will need to clear the area before you can proceed with disengaging the silo locks.

How To Manually Disengage Silo Locks in Helldivers 2

After clearing off enemies, follow the steps mentioned below:

  • Step 1: Interact with the terminal and type in the password (launch codes).
  • Step 2: Now, you’ll need to go down and manually disengage each of the four silo locks. To do that, interact with the terminal and open each silo hatch.
  • Step 3: Go down the hatch and interact with the locks to disengage them. Repeat this process for all four of the locks.

Once you do this, the ICBM takes around a minute to finally come up and get into launch position. After that, simply enter the launch coordinates, and the fueling process for it will begin. This takes an additional 30 seconds. Interact with the terminal one final time to launch the ICBM to its target. While one of your squad members is busy following this process, the others should help clear the launch site of any enemies that appear.

Note: In some cases, interacting with the terminal initially to enter the launch codes or password might not work. This is a known bug that can affect your game from time to time. However, it doesn’t seem to happen too frequently.
