Chris Hansen took notice of Shchelp after the YouTuber’s story got widespread social media attention earlier this year, after Roblox sent him a cease-and-desist letter. As of August 28, 2025, Hansen’s Roblox documentary production seems to be going full swing after sharing a photo with Schlep on X, and said:

Chris Hansen is making a documentary about the recent child exploitation cases against Roblox. For those who don’t know, the gaming company has multiple legal suits against it from different parties. The most high-profile one is perhaps the Louisiana Attorney General’s August 14, 2025, lawsuit. In it, she accused Roblox of endangering children by not providing adequate protection against predators who pose as children to lure in victims.
With other lawsuits, including one from an Indiana family claiming Roblox cares more for profits than child safety, the platform is under a lot of scrutiny. Amid the scandal, Chris Hansen announced that he will make a documentary about the predators on the platform. The famous journalist explained his reasons in a short video uploaded to X on August 16, where he talked about the project and having Schlep as a collaborator:
“You may have heard that my streaming crime network, TruBlu, and I are investigating the exploitation of children on the popular gaming platform Roblox. Well, it’s absolutely true. I have already interviewed law enforcement investigators and victims of this horrible activity. And we have some collaborators. Some people who have been working in this space, including Schlep, have committed to helping us in this endeavor.”

Chris Hansen also said that he and his team will try to hold Roblox accountable for the child exploitation, and continued saying:
“Will Roblox actually say anything about it? Will it make any changes? We will do our best to hold them accountable. Stay tuned, we are working hard on this project.”
