Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater: Shagohod Boss Guide

Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater may not have a terrifying Metal Gear, but it does have the Shagohod. The Shagohod is a weapon of mass destruction developed by Sokolov and is the main threat for you to stop over the course of the story. A tank capable of moving upwards of 300 miles per hour, the Shagohod is relentless and can easily wipe countries off the map. Unfortunately for you, the player, you have to face it on a bike. 

The Shagohod is one of the hardest encounters in Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater. The tank is bulletproof and can absorb almost all damage you deal to it. How To Defeat the Shagohod in Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater

As stated earlier, the Shagohod is bulletproof for the most part, and Volgin makes it a point to taunt you with that fact. In order to defeat this giant tank, you need a rocket launcher, and you need to be precise with your aim. As you go about the arena on Eva’s bike, pull out your Rocket launcher and aim it at the wheels of the Shagohod.

These wheels resemble drill cones and are easy to spot. Shoot down the wheels on both ends, and you’ll neutralize the tank’s movement for 5 or so seconds. Once that’s done, wait for Eva to circle around to the back of the tank. Here, you’ll find a small hole in the head with sparks flying through. Shoot your rockets right at this weak spot to deal damage to the tank. This is the ONLY way to deal consistent damage to the tank. 

Attack Patterns

If you’re slow with slowing down the Shagohod, you’ll be subjected to its deadly attacks. The first way the tank attacks you is with its machine guns. The two turrets on its hull aim right at you and fire away. You can deal with this by shooting the turrets with your AK-47. The tank also uses the machine gun right at the center to deal damage. If you shoot right at the center machine gun with your rocket, you can deal some damage to the tank. This can be difficult with the tank being so mobile. 

The second way the Shagohod attacks you is by ramming straight into you. The only way to deal with this is to fire rockets at it during the charge. You have a short window, so be quick with it. The third way the tank attacks you is with missiles. It fires missiles into the air, and these missiles then track you and hit you. They WILL hit you. You have to shoot them as they come to deal with them.
