Hollow Knight Silksong: All Spool Fragment Locations

You’ll want to collect all of the Spool Fragments in Hollow Knight Silksong because they aren’t mere collectibles. Instead, grabbing these will help you upgrade Hornet’s available Silk reserves. With more Silk available, she can use more of her Silk powers during combat without the meter running out.

The game has 18 Spool Fragments for you to collect, and most of them won’t be in easy to spot areas. So, here’s a guide on the locations of the Spool Fragments in the game and how you can reach each of the locations.

Location of All Spool Fragments in Hollow Knight Silksong

Spool Fragment No.	Region	How To Get
Spool Fragment 1	Moss Grotto	Exit through the top left portion of The Marrow. Now take a left turn and open the gate at the end of the room. Keep heading left until you reach the elevator. Then, proceed to the rightmost exit and climb up. Destroy the wall here after navigating past the traps. You’ll find the fragment inside the room past the destroyed wall.
Spool Fragment 2	Deep Docks	Beginning from the Shakra area, proceed straight and activate the elevator using the lever. Go all the way down, exit, and proceed to the left. You will find another elevator that takes you further down. Get out and then use the platforms to descend deeper. Reach the fast travel gate and then use the lava platform to reach the lever. Interact with the lever to open up the way to the top section of the room, where the Spool Fragment is.
Spool Fragment 3	Greymoor	Reach the Halfway Home location in Greymoor. Make sure you have the Drifter’s Cloak and Cling Grip abilities. Continue past the Halfway Home to the next section, where there’s a bridge. Cross the bridge and pull a lever on the other side. Now climb up using the balloons and platforms to reach the top right section where the fragment is located.
Spool Fragment 4	Bellhart	Complete the ‘My Missing Courier’ quest. After that, interact with Frey, and you can purchase the Spool Fragment from him for 270 Rosaries.
Spool Fragment 5	Underworks	Start from the Underworks Ventrica location. Interact with the lever and drop down into the next room. Go through the vents and eliminate all enemies in the next room. Proceed further to reach the Spool Fragment.
Spool Fragment 6	Weavenest Atla	Upon entering Weavenest Atla, reach the central corridor to the left. Now, use the Cling Grip ability to climb up. A bug will roll towards you here. Head to the left and jump below to retrieve the fragment.
Spool Fragment 7	The Slab	You will need both the Key of the Heretic and the Key of the Indolent to reach the location of this one. It’s at the bottom area of The Slab, and you’ll need to use the cages to reach the hidden area. Use Cling Grip to grab the Spool Fragment.
Spool Fragment 8	Choral Chambers	Reach the bottom right exit of Cogwork Core. Hit the gear just above the gate to open up the way and then proceed further. Interact with a lever here, drop down, and then take a left. Using the Drifter’s Cloak, float down past the air vents and take the path on the right. Cross any gaps with your dash and glide abilities. Hit another lever, and then pick up the Spool Fragment.

What Does Spool Fragments Do?

Collecting Spool Fragments will enable you to increase your Silk reserves. You start off with a very limited amount of Silk, which is your primary energy source when it comes to using Silk skills. For every 2x Spool Fragments you collect, your Silk reserve gains an additional bar. In total, you can grab 18 Spool Fragments in the game.
