The MyGM mode returned to the NBA 2K25 edition, and is in NBA 2K26 in a much more polished manner. In this game mode, you will get the opportunity to wear the shoes of a general manager as you live out various storylines. These narratives may be inspired by real-world scenarios, but your decisions and actions are what will make a world of difference.

MyGM Mode in NBA 2K26

The MyGM mode in NBA 2K26 takes the cake, featuring one of the biggest updates with the inclusion of 30+ team-specific storylines along with 98 different types of conversations. On the basis of the team you choose, you will face some real-world GM obstacles and hurdles. This could be somewhat like rebuilding a team from scratch. You will work alongside your CFO, head coach, team scout, and governor to solve issues and tend to the needs of your team.

The MyGM building is your humble abode and your base where you can manage all your team activities. It is here that you will receive new tasks and discuss strategies with your team. You can fill out your staff along with your assistant GM, who acts as an advisor.

Feel the tense atmosphere and the thrill of making decisions with repercussions. Keep track of the player’s progress in the gym and take some practice shots of your own. You can walk around the halls in a closed open-world environment and go about your responsibilities as a general manager.

MyGM Legacy

As part of the new MyGM Legacy menu, you have the option to track various objectives within each save. These include keeping a note of the championships won, or even verifying your predictions of having recruited a future MVP. You can even showcase all of your accomplishments over your MyGM journey.

Back in NBA 2K25, the MyGM mode came with a ranked mode where players needed to be of a similar rank to face off. Things are, however, different in NBA 2K26. There is now an unranked mode where you will have the freedom to edit players, import custom rosters, or even draft different classes. You can also adjust sliders to provide a custom experience, retaining major role-playing elements present in the mode.
