You will find Disgraced Chef Lugoli in the Sinner’s Road section of the game’s map. You can access this particular area from Greymoor, which means you can get there quite early in the game. However, you won’t be able to engage in the boss battle until later, after you acquire the Faydown Cloak. This tool gives Hornet the double jump ability, which is necessary to reach the boss.

After grabbing that ability, proceed through the bottom parts of the Sinner’s Road area until you reach a section you can double jump to. This is where the boss battle will occur. Strike the gong in the middle of the room to start the fight. Before you do, unlock the checkpoint to the left of the arena. Also, make sure you rest at the Sinner’s Road bench.

Disgraced Chef Lugoli Overview

When you ring the gong, you’ll get the attention of the two enemies already in the room. The boss won’t appear until you defeat both of these foes, which shouldn’t pose much of a problem. Keep your distance from them and sneak in attacks whenever you find an opening. After you eliminate them, Disgraced Chef Lugoli will crash down from above, starting his first phase.

First Phase

In the first phase, you’ll need to watch out for two attack types. These are:

  • Poison attack: The boss will shoot blobs of poison toward you. If you get hit by any of these, you’ll receive the poisoned affliction. In this state, you can’t Bind your wounds. You must first use your Silk to cure the poison before resuming healing.
  • Charge attack: As the name suggests, the boss will charge toward you. You’ll need to master the timing and move to the opposite side of the charge to avoid damage. If you get hit, the charge will take off two masks.

Second Phase

After you deal enough damage to Disgraced Chef Lugoli, he’ll enter his second phase. He will continue with his poison and charge attacks, but two things will change.

  • Faster: The boss will become much quicker in his attacks, and you’ll need to react faster to avoid damage.
  • Dive attack: In this phase, the boss will dive underground and launch poison blobs at you. He’ll then emerge from the ground and launch more poison droplets toward you.

The following are some tips that can help you get through this fight easily:

  • Avoid as many of the boss’s poison attacks as possible. During the first phase, stand close to the boss, either to his left or right, when he launches the poison blobs. Since he launches them in an arc, you can avoid getting hit by staying close to Disgraced Chef Lugoli.
  • During the second phase dive attack, avoid standing in the center of the room at all costs. This is where the boss will dive underground. Instead, stand slightly to the left or right of the center. This will help you stay clear of the poison droplets he spews.
  • If you can avoid most of his poison attacks, use your Silk Skills to damage the boss and end the fight quickly. However, if you get poisoned a few times, save your Silk for curing the affliction and recovering HP.

After defeating the Disgraced Chef Lugoli boss, you’ll receive Pickled Muckmaggot. This is a crucial ingredient when you’re trying to complete The Great Taste of Pharloom side quest.
