MyPoints in NBA 2K26 is one of many currencies in the game, which is essential for upgrading your player in MyCareer. The ins and outs of this less controversial currency compared to the VC are not explained in depth by Visual Concepts, even during NBA 2K26’s tutorial. This can confuse newcomers, so we have described how MyPoints work and how to use them in this article.

Players can check their MyPoints through the progression tab in the MyCareer game mode, alongside their MyPlayer’s OVR, stats, and attributes. There is a circular meter for MyPoints, and the more you earn, the more you fill that meter. In turn, this will increase the threshold of your player’s OVR. To earn the currency, you need to perform at your best during matches.

MyPoints’ primary role in NBA 2K26 is to improve your MyPlayer through attribute and stat progression. In addition, your player will get a higher OVR each time you acquire the currency. You can then head to the progression tab and increase your character’s stats and attributes.

However, it is not as easy as it sounds, because as your player’s OVR increases, so does the amount of MyPoints required for the next level. In simpler terms, upgrading an athlete with an 80 OVR will be significantly more difficult than upgrading one with a 70 OVR.

As mentioned, you can earn MyPoints through matches. The most convenient way to get the currency is to play the MyCareer mode in NBA 2K26. We also recommend trying to achieve the best teammate grade and completing as many goals as possible, as these also grant MyPoints.

Additionally, while these methods provide enough currency, if you need an extra 10% boost, you can try unlocking the MyPoints Accelerator. To do this, you will have to play the “Out of Bounds” quest. Keep in mind that higher difficulties, such as Hall of Fame, give you more MyPoints than lower or normal difficulty modes.
