Maruzensky (Summer), also known as the Mile Runner Queen, is an exceptional Front Runner for Mile distance races. Her unique skill, A Kiss for Courage, increases speed for 5 seconds if she is in the front of the pack in the second half of the race after activating a recovery skill. The unique will likely give Maruzensky a head start going into the last spurt because of its long duration, making it a great skill to have.

Maruzensky has ideal stat boosts for a Front Runner, with a 15% Speed bonus and a 15% Wit bonus. Notable innate skills include Corner Recovery, Moxie, Triple 7s, Restless, and Mile Maven. While not a must-pull, Maruzensky is one of the best characters to have on your Mile team. As a bonus, her banner also includes Special Week (Summer), who is a powerful character and will be an asset for Medium or Long races if you manage to pull her.

Mejiro Dober: Early January 2026

Mejiro Dober is to Late Surgers and End Closers what Seiun Sky is to Front Runners: the ideal parent to pass down their unique skill. Her unique skill, Beyond the Other Side, increases acceleration on the final corner, giving her a head start in the last spurt. She also possesses All-Seeing Eyes, a 3% Stamina drain skill at Potential Level 3, making her a strong candidate for debuffer builds. She has an aptitude for Mile and Medium races, with a 20% Wit and 10% Speed bonus.

Kitasan Black (SSR): Early January 2026

SSR Kitasan Black continues to be the best Speed support card to have in your deck. Her events include several Energy and Mood boosting options, and she even provides the Practice Perfect condition through them. She offers the Professor of Curvature a rare skill, which is top-tier on most tracks, owing to its 5-second duration.

If you didn’t manage to get MLB Kitasan Black during her initial banner, this will be the time to do so. The banner will also include an exceptional Power card, SSR El Condor Pasa.

Oguri Cap (Christmas): Late January 2026

The Christmas version of Oguri Cap is one of the best characters in Umamusume Pretty Derby for Mile, Medium, and Long distances. She has a training bonus of 15% Speed and 15% Stamina. Her skill kit includes plenty of recovery options with Shake It Out, A Small Breather, Gourmand, and Triple 7s.

However, what makes her truly overpowered is her unique skill, Christmas Eve Miracle Run!. It gets activated in the second half of the race, after three recovery skills have been triggered. It increases speed and acceleration for 5 seconds, allowing Oguri to surge ahead in the last spurt. Oguri Cap (Christmas) is a must-pull if you have a decent deck of Support Cards to train her.

Riko Kashimoto (SSR): Late February 2026

Like SSR Tazuna Hayakawa, SSR Riko Kashimoto is a Pal Support Card. She is an extremely powerful card for the upcoming Aoharu Hai scenario because of her scenario-linked special events and rewards. Aoharu Hai grants greater stat bonuses than URA Finale, which are then compounded with Riko Kashimoto’s bonuses.

Apart from her relevance to upcoming scenarios, Riko adds value with Mood and Energy boosting events, and provides access to skills like Rushing Gale!, Lone Wolf, and Sympathy. Her banner also includes SSR Rice Shower, a useful Power card with good training bonuses and skills.
