Refer to our step-by-step guide for ‘A Lot to Process,’ Borderlands 4’s fourth main mission, with tips on defeating The Oppressor boss.
‘A Lot to Process’ is the fourth main mission in Borderlands 4. It tasks you with finding an Order Scientist, Zadra, in hopes of countering Idolator Sol’s Locust bio-weapon. To complete the mission, you’ll have to find the Order Scientist, enter a meat processing plant, and defeat an aerial boss.
Borderlands 4: A Lot to Process Walkthrough
You can prepare yourself for ‘A Lot to Process’ by completing side missions to at least reach level 5. Ensuring that you have a source of Corrosive and Shock damage will also make things easier. Begin the mission by speaking with Conway at the Outbounders HQ in The Howl.
Part 1: Find the Order Scientist
Follow the quest marker to the Order Scientist’s home. The entrance is closed off by a barrier, which is powered by a generator in the shed opposite the house. Climb onto the shed and ground slam the glowing part of the roof to break inside. You can also find a gap in the walls in the rear left corner of the shed to shoot the generator.
Once you destroy the generator, a turret will shoot at you through the house’s entrance. Destroy Auto-Turrets easily by using Corrosive weapons or abilities with Corrosive Damage. Enter the house and head upstairs to initiate a cutscene in which you’ll meet the Order Scientist Zadra.
Defend Against the Order’s Attack
Following the cutscene, the Order launches an attack on the house, and you have to defend Zadra. Shoot out of the house’s windows, or use the cover in the open area in front of the building. The most enemies in the attack wave are vulnerable to Shock and Corrosive damage, including the Badass Elemental Armature.

Part 2: Enter the Meat Processing Plant
Despite your best efforts, Idolator Sol apprehends Zadra and takes her to the meat processing plant located on the eastern side of the Fadefields. However, before you can reach the plant, you must cross Watershed Gate, a giant dam that blocks the way ahead. You will encounter Wranglers at the dam. Use incendiary weapons to defeat them quickly.
Find Where Wildhorns Go
Once you arrive at the meat processing plant, you’ll find its main entrance closed off. Head to the left side of the main entrance while sticking to its boundary wall to find a large side entrance near the wildhorn enclosure. However, you’ll need to fool the scanners at the entrance to use it.
Enter the building on the right side and use your grapple on the ceiling lever to release the meat and cover yourself in wildhorn blood. You can now pass under the scanner without getting decimated by the side entrance’s turrets. You’ll be dropped down a pipe and into the meat processing plant.

Part 3: Escape With Zadra
Scale the wall on the far side of the chamber and open the vent at the end of the hallway using your grapple. The vent leads you to Zadra; talk to her and prepare to make your escape. While Zadra hacks the door, impeding your progress, you have to defend against waves of incoming enemies.
Follow Zadra through the unlocked doorway and take the elevator to the roof. Use the vending machines and prepare for a large battle with several order enemies and two Elemental Badass Armatures.
To proceed further, you require three Control Circuits and one Transponder Pack. Destroy Engines or Synths to get Control Circuits and Pinheads to obtain a Transponder Pack. Take the parts to the teleporter at the center of the platform and install them. Zadra will use the teleporter and escape, leaving you to deal with The Oppressor.

Part 4: The Oppressor Boss Fight
The Oppressor is a flying robot gunship with a shield and an armored health bar. It utilizes a variety of ranged attacks and doesn’t offer any chances for you to engage it in melee.
- Use Shock Damage to quickly demolish The Oppressor’s shields.
- Once the shields are down, use Corrosive weapons to deplete the boss’ health bar.
- Aim for the cockpit at its center to score critical hits and deal extra damage.
- When The Oppressor lowers an energy weapon and begins charging it up, target it to deal critical damage and interrupt the attack.
- Find cover behind nearby walls and crates to avoid taking damage from its salvos.
- Shoot down The Oppressor’s missiles or take cover when they get near you.
- Sprint to a side to avoid The Oppressor’s bombing runs.
- Loot the chests and containers in the arena to restock on ammo and healing packs.
- Kill regular Order enemies first to focus entirely on The Oppressor without interruption.
Meet Zadra at her Lab
Once you defeat The Oppressor, Zadra gives you coordinates to her lab. Follow the objective marker to the hideout by a waterfall. Enter the cave and kill the Threshers in your way as you head deeper into it. Speak with Zadra to conclude the mission.
