The Faydown Cloak in Hollow Knight Silksong is a late-game upgrade to Hornet’s dress. This cloak upgrade is found at the peak of Mount Fay in Act 2. However, you will also need the Clawline Grip Ancestral Art to travel through this area. The Faydown Cloak not only provides a double jump but also provides warmth to Hornet.

This also lets her explore Mount Fay without losing her masks. Being one of the most crucial upgrades in the game, it is difficult to ascend the mountain without it. Here’s all the ways you can get the Double Jump ability in Hollow Knight Silksong.

The Double Jump Ability or the Faydown Cloak is found at the peak of Mount Fay. This location can be accessed by going left of the Slab. You can access The Slab by getting captured by the Jailer in Far Fields or progressing through the Citadel. But, you will have to acquire the Clawline Ability in the Cauldrons first. The Clawline Ability will help you grapple towards rings in Mount Fay, opening up the path to the Double Jump Ability. The quickest way to acquire both abilities is to reach the Citadel and progress through the Choral Chambers and access the Cauldron from Whiteward.

The key to Whiteward can be found in the top-right part of Songclave. Unlocking Whiteward also unlocks the Cauldron. Then, you can skip the Trobbio boss fight by backtracking and moving to the left of the Citadel. Until you reach the Slab. There is also a high chance that you have unlocked the Slab’s Bell Beast tunnels earlier (natural progression). Continuing left of the Slab, you will end up at Mount Fay.

Ascending Mount Fay requires you to get to the nearest warm lights and platform quickly to ensure that you don’t take damage from the cold. You will need to platform Hornet in the next 15 seconds to the next light in order to not lose health. Or, you can also backtrack to the old one if you failed the platforming section. The platforming will make use of the Drifter’s Cloak, Dash, and Grapple Abilities of Hornet to the max. Ascending the mountain will take you to a harp where Hornet will have to play her Needolin, and a bird swoops down and drops the Faydown Cloak.

What Does the Faydown Cloak Unlock?

The Double Jump Ability unlocks many different areas of the map, mainly the Cogwork Core (for the Act 2 main quest), Memorium, and the Sands of Karak. Other hidden areas can also be accessed using the Double Jump ability, letting you acquire more mask shards and discover hidden fleas. This is one of Hornet’s last upgrades to her arsenal before she fights the Grand Mother Silk in Act 2’s conclusion.
