Team Cherry’s Hollow Knight Silksong throws players into the world of Pharloom as the nimble protagonist Hornet. With faster combat, larger environments, and deeper customization than its predecessor, the game challenges players in multiple ways. Managing your toolkit is the key to survival, as different situations require different abilities. Fortunately, Hornet has more than just her starting equipment slots to tackle any situation in Silksong.
Early in the game, you can unlock extra tool slots for Hornet, which gives you more strategic options. This upgrade is done by an NPC called Eva through Vesticrest in the Weavenest Atla location of the game. But to speak with her, you need to unlock a sealed door to Weavenest Atla. Locating Eva in Weavenest Atla in Hollow Knight Silksong
During Act I in the Moss Grotto area, you will encounter a sealed door, but it cannot be opened immediately. First, you must defeat the Widow boss in Bellhart to acquire the Needolin ability. After you have this ability, return to the door in Moss Grotto and play the Needolin to unseal it. Once inside, go to the east side through a section of breakable walls to enter Eva’s chamber.

Unlocking Extra Tool Slots for Hornet
Eva upgrades the crests you collect throughout the game, including the Vesticrest. Each upgrade can unlock new abilities or enhancements for Hornet, including extra tool slots. Visit her occasionally, as she provides additional upgrades at different stages. These upgrades are crucial for tackling Pharloom’s more challenging tasks. Moreover, with more tool slots, you have more options at your disposal. This is especially useful during difficult boss fights or complex platforming puzzles.
