Crust King Khann in Hollow Knight Silksong is one of the three major bosses that you have to face during Act 3. This is one of the easier fights out of all the memory bosses, but reaching him is the difficult part. Moreover, Crust King Khann has many loyal followers who are ready to die in battle for him.

Where To Find Crust King Khann in Hollow Knight Silksong 

Crust King Khann in Hollow Knight Silksong is a memory boss whom you fight in the Coral Tower. It is located in the upper section of the Sands of Karak, accessible via the Blasted Steps. Due to him being a memory boss, you have to climb the tower he is in after using the Elegy of the Deep, which is an ability that allows Hornet to enter memories. 

If you have yet to open the shortcut to Sands of Karak from Blasted Steps, follow this path to reach the Coral Tower:  

• Start from the Pinstress bench and use the hanging rings with Clawline to reach the upper entrance. 
• Climb up the passage and keep going right from point A.
• Sands of Karak features a unique mechanic that requires you to break pearl-like seeds near ledges to create temporary platforms. Continue using this mechanic until you reach point B. 
• Jump down to point C and hit the seed to create a temporary path to the top. The entire parkour sequence requires a lot of precision, as the platforms disappear quickly. 
• After you reach point D, keep going left till you reach the Coral Tower. 

Enter the tower and use the Elegy of the Deep to access the distant memory where Crust King Khann is located. 

Crust King Khann Boss Overview 

Among all the memory bosses, Crust King Khann is the easiest to defeat because he has no melee moves. All his attacks involve terrain manipulation, where he creates hazards using Coral. However, the main challenge of this fight is reaching him, as you have to fight multiple arena battles against enemies you have never seen before in the game. 

Fortunately, you can create a shortcut at the end to reduce the number of arena battles you have to pass before reaching Crust King Khann. There are a total of three phases of this boss fight, and here are the moves you have to watch out for: 

Phase 1

This is the first phase, and most attacks are manageable if you are good with your positioning.

• Coral Pillar: Crust King Khann points towards a direction with his hands, and a spiky coral pillar spawns towards that direction. You can see the pathing of the pillar as dust appears exactly in the way the pillars spawn, making this a highly telegraphed attack. 
• Coral Cross: Crust King Khann jumps in the air and brings down two crossing coral pillars on your position.
• Coral Burst: Crust King Khann shouts, and multiple coral growths spawn on the floor and ceiling of the arena. There are spaces between the growths where you can stand without getting hit. 

Phase 2

Crust King Khann’s moveset expands in this phase. Here are the new attacks: 

• Coral Rain: Multiple coral spikes telegraphically drop from the ceiling across the entire arena. Moreover, the spikes drop starting from either side of the arena. 

Phase 3 

No new moves get added in this phase, but the boss gets more aggressive with his attacks. Crust King Khann moves quickly and attacks at a faster pace. Moreover, he can simultaneously attack with two moves at once in this phase.

How To Beat Crust King Khann: Tips and Tricks

Crust King Khann in Hollow Knight Silksong is quite an easy boss if you are good at maneuvering around the arena. It is recommended to use the Wanderer’s Crest for this fight, as you can hit him quickly and reposition yourself away to a safe spot. Moreover, the entire battle is telegraphed, as dust clouds appear with each attack, indicating how the move unfolds. 

When it comes to tools, use the Tacks with the Pollip Pouch. Doing so applies poison to the Tacks, which deal damage over time on contact. The coral attacks do not despawn the tacks, making them one of the best tools to use during this fight. For your Silk Skill, use the Silkspear to be able to deal damage from afar when you cannot reach the boss. 

In conclusion, take your time fighting Crust King Khann. There is a high chance you are going to be low on health after reaching the boss, as you have to pass through multiple gauntlets of enemies. Use the first phase of the boss to heal yourself, and then focus on spending Silk on skills in the rest of the phases.
