The Pinstress is a challenging boss in Hollow Knight Silksong, and this article will go over everything you need to know about her.
The Pinstress is initially a neutral NPC in Hollow Knight Silksong; however, she can also be a thorn in your side. She can become a helpful NPC as she trains Hornet with what she knows in combat, but she will later challenge you to a duel. There is an option to refuse, but this would lock you out of unlocking the reward and a satisfying battle.

Where To Find the Pinstress Boss in Hollow Knight Silksong?
There is no shortage of wishes or side quests in Hollow Knight Silksong. One of them is the Fatal Resolve wish, which will take you to the Pinstress encounter. She will pop out of the ground on Mount Fay and start a conversation with Hornet. To summon her out of her slumber, strike the rock until she wakes up.
She will then ask if you are up for a duel.
The Pinstress Boss Overview
She is a formidable foe and a worthy opponent for Hornet. The Pinstress might have gone easy and taught you the Needle Strike ability, but she will not be as merciful in the duel. This boss is slippery and can leap across the arena and, to make matters worse, fire projectiles in the air.
Fortunately, this boss fight only has one phase with a variety of attacks. Most of them are predictable, and you can get away from danger rather quickly. After the fight, you will receive the Pin Badge as a reward. This will reduce the charge speed of the Needle Strike ability, making it much more viable in battle.
Phase 1
- Needle Drop: At the start of the battle, the Pinstress will jump off the ground and fire three pins toward you. Evade each one by running and studying the landing pattern.
- Needle Dash: This is the second move where the boss will lunge toward the ground. It can deal extensive damage, and we recommend dodging out of danger.
- Needle Charge: After landing on the ground, the Pinstress will charge either left or right to hit you. Jump over them and counterattack in the back.
- Random Teleportation: This is a mixture of all the moves the boss used beforehand. It will be less easy to predict, and you should always be on the move.
- Cross Slash: The Pinstress will use both her blades to perform a large energy cross attack.
Additional Tips and Tricks
It may start as a friendly battle or a warm-up for future challenges, but the Pinstress wants to see what you’re made of. This battle is all about timing and precision. If you jump or move too fast, chances are you will be caught in her attacks.
