Activision has finally confirmed all the playable characters in Black Ops 7 Zombies. Recently, Call of Duty dropped the cinematic trailer for its next game’s Zombies mode. Soon after, the developers followed up with a blog post entailing details about all the characters seen in the trailer. This time around, up to eight players will be able to join hands to take on the hordes of the undead in the Dark Aether universe.
This means there will be a total of eight playable characters in Black Ops 7 Zombies. Veteran fans of the franchise should already be familiar with most of them. But if you’re not, fret not, as we’ll go through all of them in the section below.
List of All Confirmed Characters in Black Ops 7 Zombies
The following is the list of all the confirmed characters in Black Ops 7 Zombies:
- Grigori Weaver
- Dr. Elizabeth Grey
- Major Mackenzie ‘Mac’ Carver
- Maya Aguinaldo
- Tank Dempsey
- Takeo Masaki
- Nikolai Belinski
- Dr. Edward Richtofen
These are all the eight playable characters that will be in the game at launch. Fans of Black Ops 6 should already be familiar with the first four characters from this list. But if you’re not, don’t worry, as we’ll discuss all these characters briefly.
Grigori Weaver

Weaver is one of the four main characters in Black Ops 6 Zombies. Following the aftermath in Janus Towers, Grigori Weaver, along with the crew, is trapped in the Dark Aether universe. According to the lore, Grigori is a CIA-trained operator with expertise in combat and espionage. After the events of Janus Towers, the character has gone through a significant personality shift. He is no longer a spy acting from the shadows. Now he is a leader of the crew, leading them through thick and thin.
Dr. Elizabeth Grey

Grey is also returning from Black Ops 6 Zombies and is a part of the same crew as Weaver. She is the brains of the team. As per the official lore, Dr. Elizabeth Grey made several discoveries pertaining to the mysterious compound called Aetherium. Unfortunately, her discoveries were used for the wrong reasons, and it led to her imprisonment.
Just like Weaver, the events of Janus Towers have also brought about a shift in the way she views the world. Dr. Grey now views the world not only through the lens of scientific reason, but also believes that there’s more to it.
Major Mackenzie ‘Mac’ Carver

Another character who is making their way to BO7 Zombies from Black Ops 6, Carver, too, is a part of the same crew as Dr. Grey and Weaver. The official lore states that Carver used to be a dedicated military man who showcased exceptional skill on the field. However, due to reasons unknown, he was stripped of his Rank.
Just like our other characters, Carver, too, is reborn after the fall of Janus Towers. He is no longer a soldier following orders. Instead, he has become a vigilant protector who is focused on creating a world where humanity is no longer chained by masters, be it cosmic or moral.
Maya Aguinaldo

Last seen in Black Ops 6 Zombies, Maya is also a part of the four-person crew, including Weaver, Dr. Grey, and Mac Carver. Unlike the other crew members, Maya was born into a family of smugglers. She operates in stealth and uses covert tactics to outsmart her enemies. The aftermath of the Janus Towers has left her without a choice, and now she must join hands with the rest to survive.
Tank Dempsey

Dempsey was a part of the original Zombies crew from Call of Duty: World at War. In Black Ops 7 Zombies, Tank returns as an incarnation. He is a U.S. Marine and had only recently fought in Vietnam (1968). However, he is now transported to the Dark Aether universe, with no memories of his crew. Distrusting the new reality he finds himself in, Tank is skeptical of his surroundings, leading to an unpredictable personality.
Takeo Masaki

Masaki is described as a “disgraced ronin” whose origins belong in Feudal Japan (1591). He wandered the lands with no honor or master. However, despite his exile and hardships, Takeo remains loyal to his principles. Considering his past, this incarnation of Takeo is all about seeking redemption in battle. He, too, was a part of the original Zombies crew from World at War.
Nikolai Belinski

Belinski was also a part of the original Zombies team. He was a Soviet tank commander who led his team in the mountains of 1984 Afghanistan. Unfortunately for him, the wars he fought eventually led to disillusionment. Struggling between his duty to serve his country and the truth eventually led to great misfortune as he was betrayed by his comrades. But he hasn’t let his past come in the way. He now showcases excellent fighting skills and hides his bitterness from the past with dark humor.
Dr. Edward Richtofen

Veteran fans of the series should already be familiar with Dr. Edward Richtofen. He is a smart and eccentric scientist from the Reich. Richtofen saw through the end of the war in 1945, where, in his timeline, the Axis Powers emerged victorious over the Allied Nations. He is described as an ambitious but corrupted man, and he believes that reality will bend to his designs. But he successfully masks the darker side of his personality with witty remarks and a charming smile.
That covers everything that you need to know about all the confirmed playable characters in Black Ops 7 Zombies. As per the official lore, all eight of them are now from different timelines and are now trapped in the Dark Aether. The only way out is standing united as a single crew and taking on the otherworldly forces that await them.
