In this guide, we walk you through the Rise and Shine quest in Dying Light The Beast, the first mission in the game.
Dying Light The Beast is now out, and the game sets the tone perfectly right out the gate with the Rise and Shine quest. The Rise and Shine quest goes over the anguish Crane suffered from over the last 13 years, and throws you into a lab filled with blood-soaked monstrosities.
The Rise and Shine quest Dying Light The Beast is one of the easier quests in the game, but it can be fairly challenging due to the sheer number of zombies in the area. If you’re struggling on this quest, our guide is for you.
How To Complete Rise and Shine Quest in Dying Light The Beast
You have to complete the following quests in order to complete the Rise and Shine quest in Dying Light The Beast:
- Pick up the radio.
- Find a way out of the lab.
- Get out of the lab.
- Take the adrenaline.
- Get out of the lab.
- Climb up the elevator shaft.
- Escape the facility.

How To Escape the Lab in Dying Light The Beast
Awakening
As soon as the mission starts, you’ll find yourself lying in a pool of blood on the floor. A voice from the radio calls out to you from the corpse ahead, so that’s where you need to go. Crawl towards the corpse ahead and interact with it to pick up the radio.
The voice on the radio is that of Olivia, and she directs you towards a ventilation shaft on the other end of the room. Crawl towards the marked ventilation grate and interact with it to unlock a passage. Pass through the vents to reach the other side of the lab. The path from here is fairly straightforward and will lead you to the exit.
Before you exit the lab, however, you need to regain your strength. Enter the room towards the left at the end of the hallway, and interact with the Adrenaline Boost syringe to regain your strength. This will get you back on your feet, after which you can exit the door at the end of the hallway.
Tutorials and Cutting Through the Lab
You’ll meet a zombie in the very next hall, and you’ll have to go through the combat tutorial to beat it. Pass through the next few halls and beat all the zombies in your path to progress ahead. Olivia will then guide you through vents and rooms into a giant lab with a dozen or so zombies. You have to sneak through this area. Follow the torches and blood trails to sneak and reach the exit.

Sector B and Towards the Exit
Olivia will then guide you through Sector B. You’ll be given a short weapon tutorial here, and you have to make your way to the end of the hall. This is an area filled with zombies, and they’ll be released as you make your way to the end. Kill a few zombies, and you’ll then be thrown into Beast Mode. You’re overpowered in this mode, so use this newfound strength to pummel the zombies before you.
Kill the zombies, after which the elevator will open. Enter, and a cutscene will soon force you out through the shaft. Follow the path marked in yellow and climb up to the vent at the top. This vent will lead you to an exit, and you’ll complete the quest after a short sprint sequence.
