Here’s how you get to clear No Place Like Home Side Mission in Borderlands 4 and celebrate with an exploding boat.
The intro to the side quest starts with a worried Claptrap, who is having a tough time adjusting to life on planet Kairos. He needs your help in letting go of his past in Pandora. As the name suggests, No Place Like Home, this guide will walk you through from finding Claptrap’s keepsakes to giving them a proper Vault Hunter farewell.
Note: You must back up your save file, as there are some bugs and glitches for which in-game quest items may disappear, forcing you to do the quest from the beginning again.

No Place Like Home: Find the Tasteful Portrait
Your first objective is to grab Claptrap’s old portraits from a nearby enemy base, named Order of the Impending Storm. Follow the waypoint and reach the base. You will have to gun down a lot of enemies to get the keycard for access.
The keycard is withheld by a miniboss named Big Orange Hothead, also known as Jerk. You will have to slay him, but be mindful. He is resistant to incredible damage, but weak against shock weapons. Slaying him will get you the Facility Keycard.
After gaining access, head towards the southeast side of the base, where you will find the depot entrance. To open the door, you need a hidden console, which you will find in the southwest corner of the area.
After you have opened the pathway, after proceeding a bit, you will find a room with an orange lighting setup like a shrine to Moxxi. The Tasteful Portrait will be placed on a table.
No Place Like Home: Find VR-ON1CA’s Processor
Up next, you will have to solve a small puzzle to get this second item. Follow the waypoint and head to the bunker. You will notice that a laser grid is blocking its entrance. Solve the laser puzzle by activating the console to power up the laser, and then using the grappling hook to rotate a series of sonar panels.
This will redirect the laser from one panel to another until it overloads and destroys the bunker door. Once the door is open, head inside and grab the VR-ON1CA’s processor, which is placed on top of a crate.
No Place Like Home: Find the Crimson Resistance Asset
The final item is at the top of a nearby tower. Follow the waypoint, climb the wall, grapple your way, and reach the vantage point. Next, near the top of the tower, you will find a red porta-potty. Open it to see the remains of a Crimson Resistance Member. Grab the Rustknuckle’s Mask from the body, and that should take care of this objective.
No Place Like Home: Return to Claptrap and Finish the Mission
With all three items collected, return to Claptrap’s camp. Claptrap will ask you to place the items on a boat by the river. After that, you will need to grab the two bombs from his workbench and attach them to the boat. Once you do that, Captrap will push the boat into the current, and on his signal, shoot the explosives to blow up the boat, along with the mementos. The mission ends with Claptrap celebrating with an explosive victory, as his past is long gone.
