A Vassal Lost is a hidden Wish exclusive to the Steel Soul mode for Hollow Knight: Silksong, which culminates in fighting a new boss.
If you start Steel Soul mode in Hollow Knight: Silksong, you can replay the entire game, with an added hidden Wish called ‘A Vassal Lost’. This quest will take you all over Pharloom, and end in a boss you have not yet seen.
This guide will cover this elusive quest, explaining how to start and finish it.
How To Start A Vassal Lost Wish in Hollow Knight Silksong
This Wish is located in a hidden room inside the Blasted Steps area. Make your way to the marked location as shown in the above map. You will know you are at the right place if a piece of the roof falls on you (do try to avoid this though).
In the base mode of the game, this hidden room didn’t contain anything of significant value. However, if you are in Steel Soul mode, this hidden chamber will contain a new NPC you have never met before, Steel Seer Zi.
(Note: This NPC will be sleeping when you enter. Just hit Zi once and keep talking until the Wish starts.)
How To Finish A Vassal Lost Wish in Hollow Knight Silksong
Zi will mark three random spots on your map. This will change on a case-by-case basis. Once these points are marked, your task is simple. Visit each of the three spots and inspect them. Once all three spots are observed, you will find out the location of the boss to defeat to end this Wish, the Summoned Saviour.

Head left from Bone Bottom to reach Bone Grave. From here, go further left into a tunnel, which will eventually start this boss fight. You will find a more detailed guide on how to defeat this boss here.
Afterwards, talk to the NPC named Sula here to update the Wish. Finally, all that is left is to return to Zi and collect your reward, a Growstone. That will be the end of ‘A Vassal Lost’ Wish in Hollow Knight: SIlksong.
