⁠Pokemon TCG Current Card Rotation (2025)

Learn which cards of the Pokemon TCG are currently legal in the Standard Format thanks to being a part of this rotation.

Currently in the Pokemon TCG, the cards from the Scarlet and Violet sets are part of the Standard rotation in 2025-26. Meanwhile the Sword and Shield sets have all been rotated out. In the Standard format of the meta, older sets are rotated out for newer sets each year. This ensures that the meta remains flexible and less reliant on a few older staples.

What Are the Current Cards in the Pokemon TCG Standard Rotation?

As of 2025-26, these Pokemon TCG card sets are currently in the Standard rotation. This rotation began from March 27, 2025, on Pokemon TCG Live and on April 11, 2025, for in-person events.

Legal cards have a regulation mark “G” or onwards. All of the cards are from the Scarlet and Violet series of expansions:

  • Scarlet & Violet (SVI)
  • Paldea Evolved (PAL)
  • Obsidian Flames (OBF)
  • 151 (MEW)
  • Paradox Rift (PAR)
  • Paldean Fates (PAF)
  • Temporal Forces (TEF)
  • Twilight Masquerade (TWM)
  • Shrouded Fable (SFA)
  • Stellar Crown (SCR)
  • Surging Sparks (SSP)
  • Prismatic Evolutions (PRE)
  • Journey Together (JTG)
  • Destined Rivals (DRI)
  • Black Bolt (BLK)
  • White Flare (WHT)

Promotional sets whose cards are legal in Standard play include:

  • Black Star Promos (SVP)
  • McDonald’s Collection 2023 (M23)
  • McDonald’s Collection 2024 (M24)

Additionally, cards from the Mega Evolution set will also be legal in Standard, once they have been released globally.

Cards That Were Rotated Out in the Recent Rotation

In 2025-26, cards that were part of the regulation “F” were rotated out. This included Radiant, VMax, and V-Star Pokemon cards, all of which were part of the Sword and Shield sets.

These were the expansions no longer legal:

  • Brilliant Stars
  • Astral Radiance
  • Pokémon GO
  • Lost Origin
  • Silver Tempest
  • Crown Zenith

Promotional sets that were no longer legal:

  • SWSH Black Star Promos
  • McDonald’s Collection 2022
