The Palestag is a boss you can encounter during Act 3 of Hollow Knight Silksong if you encountered the Green Prince in various locations.
Palestag is a mini-boss you will face during the last act of Hollow Knight Silksong. However, you will need to fulfill various prerequisites if you wish to duel this foe. These tasks involve the Green Prince and his series of encounters.
Here is how to track down and defeat the Palestag.
Where To Find Palestag in Hollow Knight Silksong?
You will find the Palestag in Lost Verdania, only during Act 3. To do this, you must already have the Elegy of the Deep, which lets you enter memories. Go to the Green Prince by heading right from Greymoor, as shown on the map above (next to the Crawfather arena).
Once you reach the Green Prince, use the Needolin to enter Verdania, and keep going right to enter Lost Verdania. You must go right first until you reach an open space to platform upward. Go left and upward, then exit the area.
Keep going in the same direction, and you will find an opening upward into another area. You will find the Green Prince in this location again, along with a nearby challenge. Break the glowing spot and collect all the glowing shards.
Now, simply go toward the right in a straight line, and you will reach this boss. This was the hardest part of the boss fight, as the boss itself is quite easy.
Hollow Knight Silksong: Palestag Boss Fight Overview
As mentioned above, finding the boss is harder than the fight itself. This is because the boss is a gimmick fight. It tests your patience and Tool usage. This boss only has one damaging move it will make use of:
- Glowing Discs: The Palestag summons four discs on the screen, and releases it in a straight line towards Hornet.
- Teleportation: The Palestag is notoriously evasive. It will immediately teleport to the other side, or one of the middle or upper platforms.
Although it only has one move, it does improve upon this move as time passes. Eventually, you can face up to six discs tossed at the same time.
How To Beat Palestag in Hollow Knight Silksong: Tips and Tricks
This will likely be a long fight and test your patience. Here are some ways to make it more tolerable.
- The boss only has one attack. So, if you get used to it, surviving will be no issue at all.
- Cogfly and Pollip Pouch together are devastating against this boss. Tacks can also be great, as you can spread them all across the arena for the Palestag to walk into.
- The boss might teleport away many times before you can get close. To circumvent this, use the Clawline to latch onto the boss, deal damage, and quickly close the gap. Spamming the Clawline should be the best counter against this boss’ teleportation.
