The Cogfly Tool in Hollow Knight Silksong summons friends to help you deal damage. Here’s how you can get it.

The Cog Fly Tool is a top-tier tool in Hollow Knight Silksong that works with almost any build for Hornet. You can find it inside the High Halls in Act 2 of the game, where you enter the Citadel. The tool summons small cog bots that deal periodic damage to enemies on the screen. The maximum number of Cogflies you can summon at a time is three. Additionally, you can combine it with the Polyp Pouch to deal more damage.
Usually, players use the crafting kit as the standard method to increase its damage and count. Here’s how you can get the Cog Fly Tool in Hollow Knight Silksong.
Obtaining the Cogfly Tool in Hollow Knight Silksong

You can craft the Cogfly Tool inside the High Halls using Craftmetal found in Pharloom. You can locate the crafting spot in a small corner, where you use a table to craft the Cogfly. The path for the Cogfly Tool is the same as the Conductor’s Melody, so following the icon should lead you to the Cogfly Crafting Table.
To reach the High Halls, you will need both the Clawline Grip and the Faydown Cloak, as it is a late Act 2 area with difficult platforming. However, this area does not have a boss, only a few items and a Psalm Cylinder. You can wait a while before exploring this area, but if you want to do the Courier Quests from Bellhart, getting the Cogfly is a top priority.
The Cogfly can also combine with the Polyp Pouch to give its attacks a poison effect. One reason it is so well received in the community is its design and utility. You can use the summons for bosses that are harder to hit, such as the Raging Conchfly, Phantom, and Groal. They also deal a fair amount of damage if your crafting kit is leveled up to 3.
The tool provides enough space between you and the boss while dealing damage. However, the Cogflies can be damaged by some boss attacks and can be destroyed. One example is the Lost Lace boss fight, where the Abyss attacks will take down the Cogflies quickly.
The Craft metal that is used to create the tool can be found in these locations.
