Hollow Knight Silksong: How To Beat Tormented Trobbio (Boss Guide)

Tormented Trobbio in Hollow Knight Silksong is a much harder alternate version of Trobbio that you can fight during Act 3. Due to the effects of the void, the usually cheerful Trobbio is depressed by the collapsing world around him. Moreover, Trobbio’s wish to see Pharloom saved is impossible in Act 3, so he chooses to embrace doom. 

To help you out, here’s how you can defeat Tormented Trobbio in Hollow Knight Silksong. 

Location of Tormented Trobbio in Hollow Knight Silksong

Tormented Trobbio can be found exactly where you fight his regular version, which is at The Stage in Choral Chambers. To encounter him, you have to first accept the Pain, Anguish, and Misery quest from Songclave wishwall after entering Act 3. Once you have accepted the quest, follow this route to reach Tormented Trobbio’s location: 

• Keep going left from Songclave till you reach Point A. 
• Drop down the vertical room and go right from Point B. 

It is best to set your spawn point at the bench by the Grand Bellway to have a short runback to the boss. 

Tormented Trobbio Boss Overview

Tormented Trobbio is a much harder version of his regular fight in Hollow Knight Silksong. Almost all his attacks are modified to have an additional effect that makes dodging much harder. Moreover, the fight itself becomes a lot more chaotic as most of his modified attacks now cover large areas of the arena. That said, here are all of his attacks:

Phase 1

• Firework Bombs: Trobbio throws three bombs in the arena that bounce and explode. Moreover, the bombs explode either straight or diagonally in four directions.
• Sparkly Tornado: Trobbio turns himself into a tornado and sweeps across the arena. After he stops, the tornado splits in two and moves away from him, rising in the air at a curved angle. However, each tornado in this attack now leaves a trail of sparkle that explodes after a bit.
• Cross Blast: Trobbio jumps up in the air and creates a cross-shaped blast around himself. You can see which way the blast occurs as Trobbio throws glitter in that direction.
• Insidious Fireworks: Multiple spheres of glitter appear on the screen before exploding in bright purple flashes. 

Phase 2

Tormented Trobbio utilizes the underground section of the stage to execute attacks and confuse players. Here are the newer attacks in this phase: 

• Pyrotechnics: Trobbio drops down beneath the stage, and multiple fire geysers erupt at random locations. He can also transition to another attack immediately after exiting the stage.

How To Beat Tormented Trobbio: Tips and Tricks

While Tormented Trobbio is a harder version of his usual self, having good positioning makes this fight much easier. All his attacks are showy and designed to confuse players. However, sometimes standing in one location can help you take no damage at all. All of Trobbio’s attacks have sparkly and bright indicators that help you reposition yourself, making this fight highly telegraphed. 

For his annoying tornado attack, wait till he stops at a location and double jump up in the air. Doing so renders his entire attack useless, as he misses you with all of his tornadoes and their aftereffects. Finally, for your kit, it is better to have the Injector Band equipped to make healing easier during the chaotic fight.
