This walkthrough guide will help you complete the A New Strain main quest in Dying Light: The Beast.
After completing the Power Gambit quest, Kyle is given a new quest that will help him find more clues about Baron, and that next mission is A New Strain. In Dying Light: The Beast, Kyle injects himself with various Chimera to become stronger, and this mission is about tracking this monster. A New Strain Walkthrough
Investigate the Monument
Kyle talks to the Sheriff and Jacob and heads to the monument to investigate the site. This place is filled with monsters, especially spitters, so fill your inventory with some Molotovs to deal with these enemies easily. After clearing the area, interact with every investigation prompt to reveal clues about your next objective. Find a device near a truck, and there’s also a crate that you can loot by lockpicking.
Secure the Safe House
Before heading to the E&F Plant, Olivia suggests Kyle secure a safe house near his location. Go to the marked location to find an apartment with an approachable open window. Close all doors, kill every infected, and turn on the power to secure the safe house.

Go To the E&F Plant
Your next objective is to infiltrate the E&F Plant filled with Baron’s soldiers. Try to keep a low profile by hugging the sidelines to avoid any encounter. You can go berserk if that’s your playstyle, but before that, you have to enter the plant.
Head left, and you will see a bunch of trailers that can help you climb up. There’s a door up ahead that will lead you inside the facility. Head to the main courtyard to trigger a cutscene. After a small fight with some soldiers, you will find a scientist, who tells you that the Chimera has escaped the facility, and you need a gas canister to lure it out.
Find the Gas Canisters
There are some gas canisters stacked in the basement of the plant. In this basement, you will find some infected and also some gas canisters. Pick up one of them and head back to ground level, and it’s finally time to kill the Chimera.
Survive the Junkyard
Just after leaving the plant, your next objective is to put the gas canister in a machine. However, this triggers an ambush by soldiers, and you have to kill them in order to progress further.
Kill the Behemoth
After killing all the soldiers, you have to set traps for the Chimera. Finally, the Behemoth arrives at the scene, and just like other Chimeras, this boss also has two phases. This boss uses the same moves, like arm swings, ground pound, and a shockwave slam. After depleting 50% of his health, he will summon biters, and with enough power, you will defeat the Behemoth easily.

Rewards
Kill the Chimera, collect his blood sample, and head back to Olivia to complete this mission. You will obtain the following rewards for completing the A New Strain quest in Dying Light: The Beast:
- Survivor’s Jacket
- 10,000 XP
- 500 Old World Money
