Complete the One Gassy Issue side mission in Borderlands 4 to unlock gas canisters in Dominion City and weaken armored enemies.
‘One Gassy Issue’ is a side mission in Borderlands 4 that becomes available after completing the ‘Means of Ascent’ main mission. Completing ‘One Gassy Issue’ gives you a major advantage while fighting across Dominion City as it unlocks gas canisters at various locations.
Throwing these canisters at armored enemies will corrode their health bar quickly, giving you an edge against most Order foes. Fast-travel to the Sumpview Falls safehouse and head north to speak with Beth and begin ‘One Gassy Issue’
Borderlands 4: One Gassy Issue Side Mission Walkthrough
Reach the Sorting Station
After speaking with Beth, head to the Sorting Station located at the southern end of the Fades District. When you enter the building and try to use its elevator, it will get jammed. Find the highlighted gear below the elevator and use your grappling hook on it to pull the elevator down. Jump on the elevator and grapple up to enter the Sorting Station.
Getting through the bio-armored door in front requires activating the machine on your right, which creates corrosive canisters. Turn left (east) and grapple the vent grate above the metal boxes to pry it open. Use the air duct to enter the next room and kill all the enemies stationed there.

Activate the Locust Gas Engine
Once the Order forces are defeated, connect the Locust gas engine by pulling the two levers on the eastern wall. Use the hanging box in the middle of the room to jump across to the first lever. Jump back to the lower platform and grapple the right side of the hanging box to access the second lever. Interact with the console to activate the Locust gas engine.
Enter Sorting Station Command Center
Run back to the bio-armored door, pick up a canister from the machine, and throw it at the door. After clearing out the Order enemies ahead, you’ll have to disable the force field. Interact with the console on the left and defeat the enemy reinforcements. Do the same with the console on the right.

Reroute Locust Gas Throughout City
Proceed to the chamber ahead and flip the switch to reroute the Locust gas to the city. Don’t forget to loot the red weapon chest in the room on your way out. Locust Gas Dispensers are now active throughout Dominion City. Use the grappling hook on them to pick up gas canisters and lob them at enemies to melt through armor.
