Talk To Lydia

To begin the quest, you’ll have to head to the Mental Asylum and speak with Lydia outside. After the conversation ends, you can move towards the Asylum, and none of the infected will attack you along the way thanks to Lydia. During this phase, maintain a bit of distance from the infected, as they’ll still become hostile if you get too close. It seems Lydia’s ability shrinks their detection radius drastically. Make sure you don’t try to take down any of the infected here, as it’ll break whatever effect Lydia has on the entire swarm.

As you enter the Mental Asylum, make your way to the first floor and interact with the Block B door. However, this door doesn’t budge. So, now you’ll need to head to the basement.

Restore Power From the Basement

Here’s how you can reach the basement level and get the power back on.

  • Go back to the Ground Floor and enter the door marked Block A. Spot the vent to your left and enter it.
  • The vent leads you to the basement. Beware of the numerous infected in here, and keep moving toward the door.
  • Beyond the door is a hallway and another room with a vent inside. Enter this vent too.
  • After passing between some more infected, you’ll reach the hallway again. Keep moving straight forward until you notice a locked door on the right. Pick the door’s lock and gain access.
  • Inside, you’ll find a generator. Start it up to restore power to the facility.

Acquiring the Access Card

Switching on the generator might draw the attention of a Volatile here. Make sure you hide behind the door before the enemy can spot you. Then, exit the room and head toward the elevator doors. Opening the elevator door reveals another Volatile inside. Use the elevator shaft to scale up to the first floor. As you exit the elevator shaft, head into the room right ahead to spot another vent. Move through it to reach a bathroom. The corpse of the doctor will have the Access Card on him. So, grab that.

Reaching Block B

Exit the bathroom the same way you came in. However, you’ll spot a Volatile as you come out of the vent. You should hide behind the couch and then move through the hallway. Follow the quest marker and you will eventually exit Block A. The door to Block B will be in front of you, but there’ll be a wide range of infected between you and the door. Sneak past them and gain access to Block B. Go through the open window just inside and head left. Jump through another open window to reach the Medical Storage room door. But, as you’d expect, the door is locked, but this time with a biometric scanner.

Grabbing the Hand To Access the Medical Storage

You’ll have to find a specific hand that can give you access to the Medical Storage. For that, follow the steps mentioned below.

  • Head back to the ground floor from where you originally entered the Asylum.
  • Go through the door that leads to Block B from this area and access another door that’s down the hallway.
  • Immediately hide behind the couch here to avoid detection by the Volatile in this area.
  • Now, move to the room with the vent inside. Pass through it and reach the section that has a locked door inside.
  • Lockpick this door, and enter to find another doctor’s corpse. A machete lies nearby. Use that to chop the hand off the doctor.
  • Head back into the hallway, hide from the Volatile once more, and then head back out the way you entered.

Accessing the Medical Storage

In the next part of the guide for the Cries Trapped In The Walls quest in Dying Light The Beast, you’ll need to head back to the Medical Storage door. Use the doctor’s hand to gain access into the room. Loot everything here, including the medicine for Lydia.

Escaping the Mental Asylum

You’re almost through the trickiest portion of the Cries Trapped In The Walls quest in Dying Light The Beast. As you exit the Medical Storage room, a chase sequence will begin. You’ll have to storm through the Block B and Block A hallways to escape the infected chasing after you.

To avoid any infected that’s in front of you, use wall jumps. Keep following the quest marker to reach a window. Jump through this window and then keep on running through the gardens outside, as the infected will still be on your tail. Eventually, you’ll reach a body of water that you’ll need to swim across for the chase sequence to finally end.

Meet With Lydia

We recommend reaching the Fishermen Island Tower safe spot before meeting with Lydia. Sleep here until the next morning and then step out. After that, follow the quest marker to reach Lydia and Camilo’s location. Speak with them. After that’s done, you’ll receive a radio message informing you that the Town Hall is under attack. As soon as the message ends, a timer will start. You have one and a half minutes to race to the Town Hall location. To do this, you’ll need to showcase your mastery of the parkour mechanics in the game.

Saving the Town Hall

Once you reach the Town Hall location, the timer will change to show two and a half minutes. That’s how long you have to turn off the gas dispenser device. Things are then further complicated by the armed men from the Baron’s unit here.

We suggest using the Shotgun and other high firing rate weapons to take down these enemies quickly. Once they are down, turn off the gas dispenser as fast as possible. But that’s not the end of the mission either. You’ll now have eight minutes to destroy three mortar firing nests. The Baron’s men will use these nests to fire off gas grenades toward you. Parkour your way to each of the nests and eliminate the enemies inside.

Grab whatever ammo you can from each nest before proceeding to the next one. Once every nest is destroyed, quickly head back to the Town Hall and pick up any of the gas grenades in the time remaining.

Chimera Boss Battle

Now comes the last hurdle of the Cries Trapped In The Walls quest in Dying Light The Beast. A Behemoth will appear; you might be familiar with the enemy, as you have to face a similar one during the A New Strain quest. However, this time around, the Chimera boss is tougher. It has the same moveset as that of the earlier boss. So, you might be able to take it down without too much trouble. But, as soon as you do, two more of the Behemoths will appear. Both of them will attack you simultaneously, making this one of the most challenging boss battles in the game.

Focus on one of the Chimeras, and drain its health to the point where Lydia can take control of it. With it in her control, you can easily take out the other one. Make sure you create distance between the two bosses before zeroing in on one of them with your attacks. Sticking to melee weapons is a wise move here, as they seem to deal more damage than standard ranged weapons do.

Quest Rewards

Once the two Chimeras are down, you’ll have a chat with the Sheriff, as he has some interesting revelations for you. Post that conversation, the long quest comes to an end. You’ll receive the following rewards from it:

  • 12500 XP
  • Co-op Lootbox (if you completed the quest in co-op)
