Volatiles are the scariest monsters in Dying Light The Beast, and during the One Flew Over the Volatiles’ Nest quest, you are tasked to sneak into a nest full of them. This is one of the endgame quests in the game, and it can be quite difficult. The reason why Kyle goes to a Volatiles’ nest is to extract samples from three larvae. In this walkthrough guide, we will help you complete the One Flew Over the Volatile’s Nest quest in Dying Light The Beast.
One Flew Over the Volatiles’ Nest Walkthrough
Get to the Volatiles’ Nest
After starting the mission, head to the marked spot to start the climbing journey. You basically have to climb a mountain to get to the nest. However, the climb is not that hard, as you will be able to spot many ledges that lead to the cave.
Explore the Cave
Once inside, you will face a lot of biters and sleepers. Take the stealth approach to traverse easily, and make sure to loot stuff along the way. Keep following the marker, and you will see a big rock with ledges. Climb the rock, and shimmy along the edge to find a cable going downwards. Get ready because it’s time for a boss fight.
Wraith Boss Fight
Wraith is a hybrid between a Chimera and a Volatile, and on top of that, this boss has three phases. The first two phases are identical to each other. This boss tends to turn invisible and attack from various angles. Listen to the game sound to react in time and punish the boss. The third phase changes the course of the battle, as Wraith becomes more aggressive.
He no longer turns invisible and takes a direct approach. Try to save your Beast Mode for the third phase to end this fight fast. If you are having a hard time, you can invite friends to beat the boss in co-op mode.
Take the Samples
After the boss fight, you have to follow the marker to get deep into the nest. The nest is full of Volatiles, and if you alert even one of them, they will kill you in an instant. To make things easier, all three samples are marked, so you can stealth your way around the nest to grab them. Getting the first sample is very easy, but as for the second and third samples, you have to be cautious. There are many giant rocks that will help you hide from the Volatiles. Move quietly, and grab all three samples to progress further.
Escape the Nest
Once you get all the samples, a cutscene triggers, revealing your location to the Volatiles. Escape the chase by running and use the Dash ability to gain more distance. Eventually, you will make it out of the nest, and it’s time to talk to Lydia and complete the quest.
