Learn how to get the Super Soldier Legendary shield in Borderlands 4, with the best farming method and powerful skill synergies.
The Super Soldier is a Legendary energy shield with a collection of powerful bonuses that activate when the shield is full. The bonuses include increased fire rate, movement speed, and ammo regeneration. It also grants an Overshield every time the shield fills up. When combined with the right build, these effects make Super Soldier one of the most overpowered shields in Borderlands 4.
Borderlands 4: Super Soldier Legendary Shield Location
The quickest way to get the Super Soldier Legendary shield is to farm the Vile Lictor boss, as the shield is part of his loot pool. To face the boss, you must complete the ‘His Vile Sanctum’ main mission. Then, head to the Umbral Foundry located in eastern Windspear.
Make your way to the end of the Umbral Foundry to reach the boss arena. There, you’ll find Moxxi’s Big Encore machine at its entrance. Spend cash or Eridium at the machine to replay your boss fight with Vile Lictor. When you defeat the boss, he has a small chance to drop Super Soldier. If he doesn’t, you can repeat the boss fight until you get the shield or obtain one with the anointments you’re seeking.

Super Soldier synergizes well with a ranged playstyle and skills that replenish shield, improve shield regeneration, and provide Overshield. Vex and Harlowe are well suited to integrate Super Soldier into their builds.
Harlowe
Harlowe’s Highly Efficient skill restores a portion of her shield, which makes keeping the shield full easier, keeping Super Soldier’s bonuses active for longer. Her Mains Hum skill increases Overshield capacity, making it harder for enemies to deplete the energy shield. Creative Overflow increases Gun Damage proportional to the Overshield she has, synergizing with the previously mentioned skills and Super Soldier.
Vex
Vex’s Overprotective gives her and her minions an Overshield with every kill, protecting Super Soldier’s energy shield to keep its bonuses active. Blast Rites provides an Overshield for Ordnance activation. Corporeal improves Overshield capacity and increases damage dealt while Overshielded.
Energy Vampire provides Overshield regeneration for each enemy in her vicinity, increasing the regeneration rate with kills. Iron Maiden replenishes shield for each enemy hit with Phase Explosion and Eldritch Blast. It also increases damage proportional to how full the shield is.
