Find and defeat Axemaul in Borderlands 4 to farm Legendary loot like Kill Spring, Buzz Axe, and the Bod shotgun.
Axemaul is a nimble beast that wields an axe between its teeth. The boss’ high mobility and damage make it a challenging opponent, but the loot it offers for the trouble is undoubtedly top tier. Axemaul has a chance to drop three Legendary pieces of gear: Kill Spring, Buzz Axe, and the Bod shotgun. Follow our guide to reach the boss and efficiently farm it for the Legendary loot.
Borderlands 4: Axemaul Location
Axemaul is located at the end of the Toils of Spoiling Vis Auger Mine in the Carcadia District of Dominion City. To gain access to Dominion City, you first have to complete ‘The Falling Wall’ main mission, which will unlock the Auger Mine and, thereby, the Axemaul boss. Starting from the Final Defiance fast travel station, head directly north to reach the Toils of Spoiling Vis Auger Mine’s entrance.
How To Beat Axemaul Boss in Borderlands 4
- Axemaul has an armor health bar in addition to a normal one. Use Corrosive damage to melt through the first health bar, and Incendiary for the second one.
- The boss is very mobile, so ensure that it doesn’t going to leap away when you are about to launch a powerful attack. The best time to unleash such an attack is when Axemaul is executing its Cleaving Lunge or Elongated Chop.
- Axemaul’s weak spot is its head; shoot it to land critical hits.
- If you are downed, kill one of the Manglers in the arena to get a Second Wind.

Axemaul Legendary Drops and Rewards
Each of the three Legendary items dropped by Axemaul can be used to great effect with the right builds. Use Moxxi’s Big Encore machine in Toils of Spoiling Vis to repeat the boss fight until you get the desired Legendary drop.
