Early on in Borderlands 4, you are introduced to the concept of repkits, which are a crucial part of your overall build. Out of these repkits, one of the strongest in the entire game is the Kill Spring, which you can get quite easily and use to deal high damage.

This guide will inform you about why this particular Legendary shines compared to the rest of its peers.

Blood Siphon: On kill, converts 100% of any excess damage into Healing Orbs that seek out nearby allies.

This repkit has the ability to drain any extra damage you deal while killing an enemy and turn that into healing. Essentially, it’s almost a vampire-type skill that works better the more you kill.

Therefore, you can passively heal while focusing only on dealing damage. On top of that, you can get this repkit from defeating the Axemaul, which you can learn about here. So, the process to acquire it isn’t too far out of your way either.

The Legendary Kill Spring works great on waves of enemies instead of singular bosses. This is quite obvious since its effect activates upon killing a foe. However, there is a certain effect not mentioned in the description for this item.

Kill Spring Synergy

This repkit also recovers Armor Segments upon healing. This is the core part of what makes this item so broken. If you pair Kill Spring with something like Firewerks, you will lose count of how many missiles you are firing.

This is because of the Missile Swarm passive of the Firewerks Shield, which launches three missiles whenever your Armor Segment breaks. The idea is that these missiles will kill another enemy, which will recover your Armor Segment while healing you. On top of that, since you killed an enemy, the Bundled Effect from the Firewerks will also shoot out missiles.

The missile barrage can be endless, and you won’t even have to lift a muscle as the enemies break your Armor Segment, unleash your missiles, die, heal you up, and repeat the cycle.

Alternatively, you could also use the Legendary Onion Shield, which grants you two seconds of invulnerability upon breaking an Armor Segment. This would be a more defensive option with the Kill Spring. Both of these are among the best early-game shields you can easily find.

That was everything that makes Kill Spring so strong in Borderlands 4.
