This mini-boss encounter takes place in the Citadel’s High Halls and combines speed with environmental attacks to overwhelm players. Moreover, each attack deals two masks of health damage to Hornet.

Where To Find Giant Drapemite in Hollow Knight Silksong
The Giant Drapemite is found in the Citadel’s High Halls area, but to access its room, you’ll need a Simple Key. Once you have the key, proceed to the locked room in the eastern section of the High Halls. Some players have also reported encountering Giant Drapemites deeper within the Whispering Vaults as well. Lastly, you are required to kill six of them in total to unlock Hunter’s Notes for the enemy.
How To Defeat Giant Drapemite
The Giant Drapemite uses multiple high-damaging attacks to catch Hornet off guard. The first attack is a burrow charge in which it emerges from the ground while charging horizontally. Another attack is a leaping lunge when Hornet is at medium range. The fights are usually in tight quarters, so spatial awareness is important while facing the Giant Drapemite. As mentioned earlier, each attack deals two instances of damage, making positioning and dodging vital.
The best tactic to defeat the Giant Drapemite is by baiting its lunge attack by using your dash or double jump. This leads to several openings during its recovery animations. You can also make use of long-range tools to damage it from a safe distance. Upon defeat, the Giant Drapemite drops seven Shell Shards, a crafting material used in the making of tools and traps.
