Traps in Dying Light The Beast can only be activated using the Remote Trap Controller. This item is obtained after completing a side quest early in the game. Once it occupies space in your inventory, your screen will show any nearby traps that can be activated as a prompt. Whether you choose to activate them is up to you. Obtaining the Remote Trap Controller in Dying Light The Beast
You receive the Remote Trap Controller after completing the Cable Guy side quest. This side quest appears after you finish the Power Gambit story quest. Both of these quests occur early in the game, so completing this quest is not very difficult. The Power Gambit quest involves powering up the Power Plant after switching on a few turbines and fighting off the Baron’s men. Once the power returns, you receive a message on your walkie-talkie from a character named Pierre.
Accepting to check out the substation begins the Cable Guy side quest. The game then asks you to head west of Town Hall in Old Town. A horde of zombies surrounds the substation, including acid-spitting zombies. You need to eliminate them early, as their acid deals significant damage. We recommend clearing the zombies before proceeding with the side quest in the area. Then, follow the markers outside to obtain the cable required to restore power.
The cable has a limited length, so make sure to take the optimal path to the hatch. Take the cable down the hatch and connect it to the power box inside. The substation will receive power, and all you have to do is return to Town Hall. Head down the hall from where you meet Jacob, and you will encounter Pietro, the sender of the message on your walkie-talkie.
He will provide you with the Remote Trap Controller, and the side quest will be complete.
How To Use the Remote Trap Controller?
You can use the Remote Trap Controller only when traps are nearby. These traps are scattered throughout the city, and during certain quests and exploration, you will be prompted to use them. It is a key item that remains in your inventory permanently. Completing the quest ensures you are set for the entire game.
