Dad’s Old Kitchen Knife will be there in your second playthrough of Silent Hill F. It looks worn out and rusted, described in-game as “Father’s old tuna filleting knife.” Even though it has no combat use, its role is symbolic as it ties back to Hinako’s family. It represents the Metal element in the Sacred Sword quest and is the final piece needed to complete all five offerings. Collecting it is important if you want to open up additional story endings.

How To Get Dad’s Old Kitchen Knife in Silent Hill F
Your chance to find the Dad’s Old Kitchen Knife comes in Chapter 8 while you explore the Ebisugaoka Mountain Path near Shu’s house. Before you head back toward town, take some time to explore the mountain residential area northeast of the house.
The first thing you need to locate is the fifth Jizo statue. To spot it, head toward the large two-story house in that area. Look for the stone stairs beside the building, and check behind it. A working streetlight nearby makes the location stand out. Once you see the statue, you know you are in the right spot.
Now, turn east from that point. Across from the statue, there’s another house. Circle around to its backyard. At the cliff’s edge, you will notice a tree with the knife stuck into it. Nearby, you might also see old construction supplies, a pump, and the remains of another house. Interact with the tree to take the Dad’s Old Kitchen Knife.
With the knife in hand, go back to the Jizo statue. Offering it there completes the final requirement of the Sacred Sword quest. From here, the path to new endings opens up later in the story.
How To Use Dad’s Old Kitchen Knife
The knife itself cannot be used as a weapon. Its role is limited to the quest. By placing it at the fifth Jizo statue, you complete the set of five elements needed for the Sacred Sword ritual. The earlier offerings include a doll, a flask, a sandal, and a brazier. The knife completes the circle by representing Metal.
Once all five offerings are made, you can visit the Divine Tree later in the game. Doing so rewards you with the Sacred Sword, which becomes central to several alternate endings.
