Everything you need to know about the Shiromuku, i.e., the final boss of Silent Hill F’s first playthrough, and how to defeat it easily.

Silent Hill F, much like past games in the series, features some genuinely grotesque and challenging boss fights. However, nothing in the game is more challenging than the final boss of the first playthrough, Shiromuku. As the manifestation of Hinako’s fears, grief, and hatred, Shiromuku is a force to be reckoned with. In fact, the boss is so difficult that there’s even a trophy for defeating it on your very first attempt (without dying).
What makes the boss really challenging is its inflated HP, flurry of combos, and three phases. Furthermore, much like Sakuko and Rinko, Shiromuku is extremely agile, which makes it even more difficult to land attacks on the boss. However, there are ways to make the boss fight easier. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to easily defeat the Shiromuku in Silent Hill F.
Where To Find Shiromuku in Silent Hill F?

Shiromuku is the final boss of Silent Hill F’s first playthrough. Although the game has multiple endings, those don’t unlock until you’ve made your way to New Game Plus. As such, for all players, Shiromuku is going to be the final boss of their first regular playthrough of Silent Hill F. You will find this boss in the Dark Shrine, right before the epilogue. Although you fight Shiromuku in Dark Shrine, you don’t get access to that realm’s weapons.
Instead, you’re meant to use “perishable” weapons that you’ve collected prior to reaching the boss arena. Thankfully, the game will give you plenty of good melee options, including Crowbars, Axes, and Sledgehammers, before you head to battle Shiromuku.
Overview of Shiromuku’s Attacks and Phases

Shiromuku is the manifestation of Hinako’s grief and hatred. It’s essentially the “Dark Shrine” version of the protagonist, complete with the Fox Arm and ungodly strength. In addition to the regular claw attacks, Shiromuku also has access to a host of AOE combos. Furthermore, in the third phase, Shiromuku primarily uses AOE to deal damage to Hinako. Here’s a look at the attacks that you need to look out for:
Phase 1
- Claw swipes, which the boss can combo up to 4 times, followed by a charged attack that can be punished with a counterattack.
- Teleportation grab, which Shiromuku regularly uses after the claw swipe combos.
Phase 2
- Claw swipes same as Phase 1, but can be comboed up to 5 times. Furthermore, the counterattack window for this combo is significantly smaller.
- Screaming AOE, followed by a grab attack.
- Corrupted growth in the vicinity of the boss, which deals a moderate amount of damage and stagger.
Phase 3
- The third phase starts with a wave-based AOE, which deals a ton of splash damage. Shiromuku repeats this AOE three times during the entire boss fight.
- The rest of the combos are similar to Phase 2, but with even less downtime to land attacks on the boss.
Tips To Easily Defeat the Shiromuku

Here are some tips that will help you easily defeat the Shiromuku:
- Before the Shiromuku boss fight, we highly recommend stocking up on Divine Water and healing items (preferably Med Kits). While the first two phases won’t exhaust your healing consumables, the third is bound to do so.
- For Phases 1 and 2, keep an eye on Shiromuku’s attacks, and create your own attack opportunities by counterattacking the boss. Even on Hard difficulty, counterattacking Shiromuku is quite easy. Just make sure not to use Focus mode while dodging Shiromuku’s attacks. You can counter the boss much easily without the Focus mode.
- For Phase 2, make sure to keep your distance from the boss when you see her sitting on the ground. This telegraphs the ground AOE, which deals a small amount of damage, but staggers Hinako for a brief period, leaving her open to Shiromuku’s claw swipes.
- For the claw attacks, you can easily dodge them by pressing the dodge button as soon as you see the boss lifting her Fox Arm.
- For the third phase, you can dodge the ground-based wave by either running away from the boss or dodging right before the wave hits you. If you have an Axe or a Sledgehammer, you can also use the Focus stance to block with those weapons.
