When you first come across the Capsule Case in Silent Hill F, it may look like nothing more than a small pill container. But once you hold onto it, you realise it’s more than just a storage box. It carries Red Capsules, which Shu gives you early in the story. At first glance, these capsules seem like harmless painkillers, but the case itself becomes a permanent part of your inventory and ties directly into the bigger choices you’ll face later in the game.

In this article, we will explore how you can collect this Capsule Case in Silent Hill F, along with its significance in the game.

You don’t need to go out of your way to find the Capsule Case. It comes to you naturally during Chapter 1. After Hinako spends time with Shu, Rinko, and Sakuko at the Chizuruya General Store, the quiet doesn’t last. A fog creeps in, and the Fog Monster forces you into a tense escape.

As you guide Hinako through the chase, you will need to keep her moving forward. Stay clear of the red mist clinging to the walls since it can drag her back. Expect to climb ladders, move across rooftops, and run until the path finally clears.

Once you have survived that sequence, Shu appears in a cutscene. He hands Hinako the Capsule Case and ten Red Capsules. You don’t need to press a button or make a choice here; the case is automatically added after you complete the escape.

The Red Capsules inside the Capsule Case are both good and bad. You can use them whenever you need a quick fix to restore health or sanity. But here comes the bad part – if you use the Red Capsules, you will block yourself from reaching several endings. Three of the four main conclusions of Silent Hill F require you to never consume a single one.

If you want to keep those endings open, you are better off relying on alternatives like bandages, first aid kits, Ramune, or Divine Water.
