In Silent Hill F, Packing Tips is a special inventory upgrade that sets itself apart from all the other storage items you find. Instead of being a bag, it takes the form of a collectible note, yet it works the same way by giving you one more slot in your inventory. That single slot can make a huge difference during intense sections of the game where healing items, quest objects, and weapons quickly fill your space.

Beyond its practical use, this item is tied directly to trophy and achievement completion. Without it, you cannot finish the Fervent Collector requirement.

How To Get Packing Tips in Silent Hill F

You will not see Packing Tips in your first Silent Hill F playthrough. The game restricts this item to New Game Plus, which means you must finish the story once and then start again. When you are in the Ebisugaoka region, go to the Shimizu residence. On the second floor of this house, you will find the path that leads to it. The room that holds the item is locked, so you first need to secure the Balcony Key.

That key can be picked up in the nearby room on the same floor. Once you have it, open the balcony door, step outside, and move across to the opposite side. Enter the locked back room, and you will spot Packing Tips resting on a desk. Pick it up, and your inventory immediately grows by one slot.

Once collected, Packing Tips do not need to be activated or equipped. The effect is permanent and applies instantly to your character’s inventory.

Think of it as a small but crucial buffer that lets you carry an extra healing item or a weapon without having to discard something else. If you are working toward achievements, this pickup is mandatory. If your focus is survival, that extra slot reduces the need to constantly backtrack or make difficult choices under pressure.

To avoid missing it, make a habit of thoroughly checking every room in the Shimizu residence during your second run.
