Learn how to locate Saw’s Clench in Borderlands 4, defeat the Rippa Roadbirds trio, and farm their Legendary loot efficiently.
Saw’s Clench is a Ripper Drill Site controlled by the trio of Rippa Roadbirds bosses: Lil’ Grunt, Baby Grunt, and Gruntabulous Vork. Each one is formidable in its own right, and they appear simultaneously after you fight your way through their Ripper minions. The drill site hosts a veritable army of Rippers, and the bosses drop powerful Legendary loot, making it an ideal target to farm XP and top-tier gear.
Borderlands 4: Saw’s Clench Ripper Drill Site Location
Saw’s Clench is nestled between the mountains to the north of Ruined Sumplands in the Carcadia Burn region. Drop down into the drill site past the gate that bars entry to vehicles, and begin eliminating the Rippers there. The Rippa Roadbirds appear when you clear the initial wave of enemies in the Saw’s Clench Ripper Drill Site.

Borderlands 4: Rippa Roadbirds Boss Guide
The Rippa Roadbirds boss trio is composed of Lil’ Grunt, Baby Grunt, and Gruntabulous Vork. Facing the three of them simultaneously can be challenging, especially with their minions flocking in to support. Here are some tips to effectively combat the trio:
- All three bosses have a Shield health bar. Use Shock or Radiation damage to quickly break the shield and burn through the Flesh health bar underneath with Incendiary damage.
- Focus on eliminating one boss at a time if possible, rather than spreading out your damage among all three.
- Keep a few regular Ripper enemies alive so you can kill them to get a Second Wind in case you get downed.
- Gruntabulous Vork deals high damage with his strafing runs. Keep your distance from him and watch out for a stream of fire under his engine signaling an attack run.
- Use the cover around the edges of the drill site to avoid being caught in the range of all three bosses at once.
- Several of the boss’s attacks launch slow projectiles. Avoid standing still and keep moving to easily dodge these attacks.
- If applicable, turn off Ultimate Vault Hunter mode to farm the bosses faster.
Saw’s Clench Rippa Roadbirds Boss Drops and Rewards
Once you beat the Rippa Roadbirds, you can fight them again using Moxxi’s Big Encore machine at the entrance to Saw’s Clench. Spending the required cash or Eridium at the machine will respawn the bosses for you to farm. Repeating the boss fight is beneficial, especially if you did not receive the Legendary drop you wanted.
