The Outer Worlds 2 is an incredible open-world game. However, in terms of performance, there are significant caveats. For starters, you will be extremely CPU-bound with an entry-level RTX 5050 GPU, unless you have a modern 6-core 12-thread processor, such as the Ryzen 5 7600X. CPU-bound issues are one thing; the game has noticeable shimmering, object smearing, disocclusion, blurry grass, and plenty more.

The settings below mitigate these issues and help you play the game with a seamless experience.

For RTX 5050 and RTX 5060, we recommend playing the game at 1080p resolution. With RTX 5060 Ti, you can play the game at 1440p. We are using DLAA and not focusing on upscaling to maximize GPU utilization and reduce CPU usage.

If, for some reason, you are CPU-bound at 1440p or 1080p with the settings below, enable DLSS Frame Generation. This will help lift CPU-bound issues in the game and fix jitteriness or micro stuttering.
