The main objective of a Boat in Necesse is to allow you to travel to the different islands in the game. It is quite simple to make in practice and only requires one resource. To make a boat, all you will need is x10 of any kind of Log, and no, you do not need a workstation. You can make the tool or item out of your inventory as long as you have the needed material.

After crafting it, simply put it in your mount slot, and you are good to go. Then, go to the shore and press the F key on your keyboard to activate the boat as a mount. Of course, the reason you must go near water is that the boat does not work on land. Alternatively, you can also just add it to your hotkey bar in the game and place it to get on board. As for steering, it is the same controls as walking.

How To Use the Boat in Necesse to Travel to Different Islands

Once you have boarded the boat, open your map by pressing M and locate the island you want to travel to. Remember that you will only see the islands that you have already discovered yourself, both by traveling and using maps. Then, all you have to do is sail in that direction. Near the end of your current map, you will get the prompt “Travel X Direction.”

Note that if you travel to any corner, you will get the option to travel to the opposite side of it on the map. For example, if you exit on the north-western corner, then you will reach the south-eastern islands on the 5×5 grid of the world map. Furthermore, you can travel to all 24 islands highlighted on your map.
