Everything you need to know about the Gelidron armor pieces in Monster Hunter Wilds, and how to obtain them during Dreamspell.

The Gelidrons are easily the most unique and cutest Endemic Life in Monster Hunter Wilds. Found in Azuz and most of the Oilwell Basin, the Gelidrons are essentially Salamander-like creatures that aren’t hostile towards the Hunters. In addition to that, since the game’s release, the Monster Hunter community has taken an exceptional liking to the Gelidrons.
And with the arrival of the Dreamspell Season of Accord, you can now even dress like a Gelidron. Seeing the community’s adoration towards the Endemic Life, Capcom has essentially added a headpiece and armor combo that lets your Hunter cosplay as a Gelidron.
However, the parts needed to craft the Gelidron armor are tied to one of the toughest Event Quests. Here’s a comprehensive guide on the Gelidron armor set in Monster Hunter Wilds, and the requirements to unlock/craft it.

How To Obtain the Gelidron Armor in Monster Hunter Wilds

To craft the Gelidron set, i.e., the headset and the armor, you will first need to complete the That Won’t Faze Me! Event Quest. It’s an HR 41+ Event Quest that has you hunt a Tempered Gypceros. However, unlike the usual Tempered Gypceros that you find as Investigations, this Event Quest features an 8 Star variant of the monster, which, naturally, is significantly more difficult.
Furthermore, it’s a 5 Strength Gypceros, which means it has more health and deals significantly more damage. And as an 8 Star Monster, the Tempered Gypceros has a much higher tendency to use the “flash bomb” attack.
That said, if you’re already well past HR 100 and have an endgame build that’s capable of taking down Omega Planetes, you won’t have many issues taking down the Tempered Gypceros. Similar to the regular Gypceros, the Tempered variant is extremely weak to elemental status. As such, elemental weapons with skills like Critical Element work extremely well against this monster.
Additionally, if you’re having trouble with Gypceros’ flash bomb attack, you can equip Stun Resistance (Level 3) to negate its effects completely. Upon completing the That Won’t Faze Me! quest, you will receive the Dreamspell Catalog. It’s essentially the event-exclusive resource that’s required to craft the Gelidron armor pieces.

Overview of the Gelidron Armor Pieces

The Gelidron pieces aren’t intended to be used as endgame build components. Instead, these pieces are best used as Layered Armor. That said, the Gelidron pieces are Rarity 8 armor, and as such, can technically be used in builds. In fact, the set does have some really good skills like Speed Eating, Free Meal, and Hunger Resistance.
That said, the pieces aren’t particularly good when it comes to Defense and resistances. Here’s a look at the Gelidron set’s skills and attributes:
