Access controller settings by opening the pause menu or main menu and heading to: Settings > Controller.

  • Aim Assist: On

Aim assist snaps your crosshair to the target to compensate for the controller’s imprecise movement compared to that of a mouse. Having aim assist on is essential while playing Arc Raiders with a controller, as it will allow you to somewhat keep up with players using a keyboard and mouse. Thankfully, the aim assist is not too strong and doesn’t disrupt your aiming rhythm.

  • Interact/Reload Behavior: Tap to Interact

Tap the X button to interact and hold X to reload. This makes reloading a deliberate choice, as having “Tap to Reload” enabled can cause you to accidentally reload while trying to loot.

  • Horizontal Sensitivity: 70 – 90

The most important aiming setting, test out the Horizontal Sensitivity to see which value helps you aim at a target quickly and precisely.

  • Vertical Sensitivity: 50 – 60

It should be comparatively lower than Horizontal Sensitivity, as vertical aiming range is limited.

  • Zoom Sensitivity: 40 to 45%
  • Scoped Zoom Sensitivity Multiplier: 50%
  • Look Response Curve: Linear

Setting the Look Response Curve to linear is important to get a predictable look speed adjustment the harder you push the right stick to turn in a specific direction.

  • Look Inner Deadzone: 5 – 10
  • Movement Inner Deadzone: 5 – 10

Determines the size of the deadzone between when you push the stick and when the camera or character moves. Having a very low value can make some players experience motion sickness, so adjust according to preference. If your controller has stick drift, it is important to set this value near 10 or higher to counter it.

  • Horizontal Look Boost: 150 – 180

Horizontal Look Boost should generally be twice your Horizontal Sensitivity. This setting accelerates how quickly the camera turns horizontally when you continuously push the right stick in a direction. This setting is essential to quickly turn around and aim at a flanking enemy or retreat.

  • Vertical Look Boost: 100 – 120

Same as before, the vertical boost value should be less than the horizontal value, as targets will be present in a smaller vertical range.

  • Look Boost Ramp-up Time: 0.5
  • Zoom Horizontal Look Boost: 80 – 90
  • Zoom Vertical Look Boost: 50 – 60

Zoom Horizontal and Vertical Look Boost settings determine how quickly you can turn while aiming down sights. Useful while crouching and aiming, or switching targets quickly while shooting. Settings should generally be half of your horizontal and vertical look boost.
