If you are getting into Duet Night Abyss, the Prey VS Hunter story will test how well you handle combat under pressure. This quest appears in the Noctoyager Chapter 1 campaign. It connects the mystery-filled story of The Secret Behind the Door with the next narrative part, On the Eve of Bloom.
This quest takes place right after The Secret Behind the Door and before On the Eve of Bloom. You must complete Commission: Mediation before you can start. Once you finish Commission: Mediation, head to the mountain cliff. There, you will meet the Outsider. Talk to him to begin your training sequence. He will explain what you are expected to do and guide you through the upcoming fights.
Moreover, this meeting acts as the setup for everything that follows. Take a quick look at the area before moving forward, since the battlefield layout plays a big role in what comes next.
How To Complete Prey VS Hunter Story in Duet Night Abyss
Start the mission by speaking with the Outsider at the cliffside. He explains the importance of the training and what he expects from you. Next, you will face several waves of Filthoids. These enemies may not be too strong individually, but they attack in groups and can quickly surround you.
A good trick here is to use the environment to your advantage. Look out for orange tiles across the field. Step on them to trigger traps that can wipe out enemies fast. This phase is all about learning how to use the surroundings effectively.
Filthoids tend to charge straight toward you. Stand near solid objects like trees or walls and bait them into attacking. When they charge, move aside so they hit the obstacle instead. It is an easy way to control the crowd.
Dialogue and Impressions Check
After the fight, return to the Outsider for a short chat. This part lets you respond in different ways that affect your temporary stats for the rest of the mission.

Additionally, you receive a new weapon called Exiled Fangs. It is a pair of dual blades with quick attacks and a small healing effect when your health gets low.
The Outsider will then ask you to defend a training robot. Jump down to the area, start the defense phase, and survive for two minutes while Filthoids keep coming.
Stay near the robot at all times. Defend it from every side and manage your skill cooldowns carefully. The phase resets if the robot is destroyed, so focus on keeping both you and the target safe. There is no boss in this part, just endless waves that test your stamina and reaction.
