In this guide, you’ll learn how you can defeat or counter the brand new Monster named Birthday Boy in REPO.
The Monster Update introduced 10 New Monsters, one of which is Birthday Boy in REPO. This new Monster doesn’t seem all that menacing at first, as he roams the map setting up colorful balloons. However, he isn’t all that harmless, especially if you disrupt his birthday preparations. The following guide details the exact conditions when Birthday Boy becomes aggressive, and how you can counter it when that happens.
When Does Birthday Boy in REPO Attack You?
The Birthday Boy remains calm and mostly ignores you even when you walk past him or even try to grab him. However, if you pop one of his balloons, that’s when the Monster gets enraged and comes after you. So, whatever you do, try to avoid brushing past or hitting the balloons with an item or weapon. The pop of the balloon will instantly trigger him, and cause him to start sprinting in your direction. This is true even when Birthday Boy is on the opposite side of the map in relation to the balloon you just popped.
If he manages to catch up to you, he’ll grab hold of you and begin slapping you. Each slap deals 10 damage. Unfortunately, you can’t simply crawl into a hiding space to avoid him. The Monster can crouch down and get you even in those hiding places.
How To Defeat Birthday Boy in REPO
Defeating Birthday Boy is possible as you can attack and kill him quickly with the right weapons, or when your entire team bands together. While he grabs and slaps you several times, the damage he deals isn’t severe enough to kill you instantly. So, you can take this opportunity to dole out some damage of your own. Killing him will remove the Monster and his balloons from the map.
However, the best way to deal with the Monster without taking any risks is to simply avoid contact with the balloons he places throughout. Birthday Boy simply won’t trouble you unless you hit or destroy one of the colorful balloons you’ve put up. However, attempting to safeguard the balloons might not always be possible, and in those instances, you can also try to break the line of sight with the approaching Monster. If you run long enough, he’ll stop chasing you eventually.
In the more difficult areas, the map might include several Birthday Boys at once. When that happens, make sure you don’t pop any of the balloons, as it can trigger a chase where all of them come at you at the same time.
