Duet Night Abyss has a large roster of characters, all with their own roles and playstyles. Randy is a character who falls more into a supportive role, using his Electro-type skills and abilities to buff the entire party. Randy is a total game-changer and allows you to push your party to their full potential.

Figuring out Randy, however, is a difficult task. He has too many skills to pick from, and picking the right weapon is easier said than done. Thankfully, that’s what we’re here to help you with. In this guide, we shall go over the best Randy build for Duet Night Abyss. We shall discuss the character’s stats, all the skills he has on offer, pick a loadout for you, and much more.

Duet Night Abyss Best Randy Build

Randy is an Electro-type support character in Duet Night Abyss, who primarily plays passively, buffing his team from a distance. If you wish to make the most of this character, it is important to tune up and enhance his defensive capabilities. You also want to avoid being a one-trick defensive pony, so it is important to put in just as much thought into your overall damage output.

Since Randy is a support character, it is also important to pair him up with a party that can utilize their buffs to their full potential. Randy can grant shields to teammates, so you can get incredible mileage if you pair Randy up with glass cannon characters, such as Outsider, or perhaps more of a balanced character like Sibylle.

Ingenious Tactics is a good weapon for Randy (Source: Hero Games)
Ingenious Tactics is a good weapon for Randy (Source: Hero Games)

To make the most of Randy, we suggest using the following kit:

1. Ingenious Tactics (Best melee weapon): Randy isn’t particularly impressive with any weapon, but the Ingenious Tactics is a melee weapon that complements the character unlike any other. Ingenious Tactics comes with a passive skill that boosts DEF by a whopping 100 percent. This pairs up excellently with Randy’s already impressive defense stats.

While the weapon doesn’t deal high damage, it comes with another passive trait that works along the same vein. Ingenious Tactics holds a 50 percent chance to decrease the target’s Shield by 350 percent of your DEF. This essentially weakens one out of every two enemies you hit, which makes them paper tigers you can easily deal with.

Randy also fares well when using the Pyrothirst weapon. Pyrothirst comes with a 36 percent boost to skill duration. This passive allows your defensive skills to last longer, which essentially increases the survivability of your team.

2. Arclight Apocalypses (Best Ranged Weapon): Randy is slightly better overall when fighting from a distance, and we suggest bringing in the Arclight Apocalypses for this task. The weapon is great on its own, but it is the pistol’s passive that makes it the perfect fit. The weapon’s first passive increases your skill duration by 30 percent, which pairs well with the Pyrothirst weapon. The weapon’s second passive grants your allies a passive ATK, DEF, DEF, skill damage, or skill duration buff each time you land a CRIT.

Team Composition for Best Randy Build in Duet Night Abyss

Randy is a strong support character and can vastly improve the survivability of your DPS characters. One character you can pair him up with is Outsider. Outsider is a glass cannon character that takes damage to dish out more damage. This often results in the character being on super low HP at all times. Pair him up with Randy, however, and you can quickly negate this 1 HP problem.

You can also get incredible results when pairing Randy up with Sibylle. With Randy, your goal is pretty much to ensure that your DPS character has high survivability. Should Randy’s skills run out at a bad time, we also recommend bringing in Truffle and Filbert for some emergency healing.

As far as your Geniemon is concerned, you could do well with an Electrelf. Electrelf, being an Electro-type Geniemon, can boost the Electro damage Randy deals. This improves his overall damage potential, which is always welcome. Apart from this, Electrelf also restores 15 Sanity for allies, while also increasing their Skill DMG by 10.5 percent.

Tips and Tricks To Use Our Best Randy Build in Duet Night Abyss

Best Randy Build Guide (Source: Hero Games)
Randy is an excellent support character (Source: Hero Games)

Following these tips and tricks will allow you to use Randy to his full potential:

  • Randy requires smart positioning in combat. His defensive skills, like Legitimate Slackness, leave him immobile, so it is important that you’re positioned well before you commit to using any of these skills. We suggest standing in positions that leave, at most, only one side of you exposed.
  • While Randy can buff your team and make them tanks that could survive any encounter, he can also debuff the enemy. Use Randy’s Overwork Grudge to deal damage and reduce enemy attack damage at the same time.
