The Radeon 890M and the Arc 140T are both high-end integrated GPUs from AMD and Intel, respectively. Both of these can be found in high-end processors and serve a very niche marketplace. The 890M is based on the RDNA 3.5 architecture, and the 140T is based on the Xe2 Battlemage architecture. In terms of performance, here’s how the two stack up.

The Radeon 890M serves as AMD’s flagship RDNA 3.5 GPU. It powers Strix Point–based Ryzen APUs such as the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and Ryzen AI 9 HX 375, and also drives the Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme chip used in the ROG Ally X. Meanwhile, Intel integrates the Arc 140T GPU into its Core Ultra 7 255H and Core Ultra 9 285 processors.

These two architectures are fundamentally different, and comparing their theoretical compute performance won’t yield a clear picture. That said, the Arc GPU has a much higher TDP limit and can boost much higher. In terms of the process node, the 890M has an advantage, as it uses the same N4P process as the RTX 5090 and other Blackwell GPUs.

From the synthetic benchmarks, we see heavy competition between the two, with no clear winner. 890M wins in some, while 140T wins in others. However, both are equally powerful and competitive.

From the results above, we can see that the Radeon 890M and the 140T are closely matched. If you pick either for what it is, there won’t be any monumental difference.

Final Verdict on AMD Radeon 890M vs Intel Arc 140T

In terms of driver support and optimization, both Intel and AMD are doing exceptionally well so far. The Battlemage iGPU from Intel is very promising, and the same can be said for the 890M. Both of them excel at doing what you intend them to do.

However, if we had to choose between the two, we’d go with the 890M, as it offers better Linux driver support, allowing you to select multiple distros and strip out Windows entirely.
