Explore the Buried City and find the goods within a specific room during the Root of the Matter quest in Arc Raiders.
Root of the Matter is a simple quest in Arc Raiders that requires just a bit of exploration and intuition. As the basis of the quest, you are given a clue about where you need to go to find the items to escape with. Once you find the room and collect the items, you can return to Speranza and mark the quest as completed.
In this article, we will be looking at how to complete the Root of the Matter quest in Arc Raiders.
The Root of the Matter Quest Overview in Arc Raiders
You will be receiving this quest from the trader, Celeste, in Arc Raiders. There are two objectives as part of this quest, which are as follows.
- Go to the Research Building
- Search for the seed vault in the ‘Room with a Great View’

How To Complete the Root of the Matter Quest
First, you need to head over to the Buried City Map in Arc Raiders. Open the map and look for the Research Building, which is beside one of the hotspots on the map, Space Travel.
Now, approach the building from its south side. You will see three floors, with the bottom window barely above sand level. Enter through the window and head straight through the main hall. Take the first door on your left, and you will be greeted by a pleasant view outside the window.
On the left side of the room, you will find a large yellow capsule-shaped container. Interact with it to ‘secure the seeds.’ Once you collect the seeds, you can choose to keep them in your safe pocket to safeguard them in case you fail to make it out alive. After returning to Speranza, deliver the seeds to Celeste, and your quest will be complete.
Reward for Completion
After completing ‘The Root of the Matter’ quest, you will receive the following reward.
- Succulent (Backpack Charm) – x1
