Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment, the upcoming title in the somewhat underrated Hyrule Warriors series, is just a few hours away from its official launch. Developed by Koei Tecmo Games‘ AAA Game Studio, it’s the third installment in The Legend of Zelda’s spinoff franchise. Much like its predecessor, Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity, Age of Imprisonment is a musou-inspired title.
However, this time around, the game places greater emphasis on storytelling. Age of Imprisonment sheds light on the events that took place between Demon King Ganondorf’s invasion and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Release Time Countdown for Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment
Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment is scheduled to release on November 6, 2025. The game’s official release timing is the usual 12 AM ET. However, depending on your region, the time may vary. Similar to most releases on Nintendo Switch, games on the Switch follow a unified release schedule based on regional timing, unless the developers specify otherwise.
While some games can follow a staggered release schedule, most Switch 2 titles usually have a unified launch, akin to Steam or Xbox. If you have Age of Imprisonment pre-ordered on your Switch 2, it will automatically get pre-loaded on your console. As for the physical copies of the game, you will have to download a small update before you can start playing it.

Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment is currently available to pre-load on the Nintendo Switch 2. The game’s file size is 43.4 GB. As such, before you download Age of Imprisonment, you might want to take a look at the available internal storage. Furthermore, the release of Age of Imprisonment might also be a great time to invest in a MicroSD Express card for your Switch 2.

Hyrule Warriros Age of Imprisonment Pre-Order Details
Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment, much like its predecessors, doesn’t have any additional “Editions” apart from the Standard version. However, unlike Age of Calamity, the latest Hyrule Warriors title is priced at $70. Furthermore, if you have saves from Age of Calamity or The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on your Switch 2, you will get access to two exclusive weapons.
Do note that the bonus weapons aren’t pre-order bonuses and can be accessed even if you purchase the physical edition of the game.
